I lost my passport around 2 years ago. I think I threw it away by accident when I was moving. Now, I filled out the lost passport form, but it asks for your old passport number. I have no friggen clue what it was. I filled out everything but that. I took it to the post office and the guy there said he is not sure if they will process it and issue me a new one without the old number. I don't see why they wouldn't as I am sure they can dig up my old number using my name, birthday and SSN. This is the federal govt we're talking about. Anyway, just want to know if anyone else has gone through this as I am going overseas again in a couple months and need to get a new one soon.

Ouch, that sucks. Reminds me of my russian friend, her and her mom were originally from russia but legally became U.S. citizens, they went over there every year to visit family/friends. Her senoir year in high school they went in the summer, and lost both their passports,I didn't hear back from her for another year and a half...

Shit, I actually found the damn thing! I have honestly been looking for it for about 2 years. Too bad it expired in 2002. But at least I don't have to fill out that damn lost passport form now.
