i want my jdm amber turn signals to be on when headlights are on, and blink when i hit turn signal. right now they only blink like turn signal* the way they are designated to be*
although on the usdm bumper the amber on the side of the car is on when the lights are on..i wanted to know if i spliced the wires that were intended for that into the wires for the turn signal, if i would get both functions
if not, how can i achieve what i want to do?
thanks in advance guys

This is all speculation since i am not near my car to test it with a dmm or anything, but why not splice the jdm turn signal into the usdm bumper light harness.
If you cant do that for whatever reason, then i think it will take a simple circuit to get your desired results. If you went the way you suggested then mabey it wont work because there will always be a signal going to it to keep th light on. So even if the blinker has been turned on it will not blink but remain on.
Like i said i have no idea what im really talking about seeing how i cannot test it on my own. and have yet to get down and dirty re-wiring my lights, so take what i say for a grain of rice.
im sure someone who has had more practice with the lighting harness will be able to help you out, and shoot holes through my theory.

Damnit people read. Did you not notice that this thread is over a year old. Do you really think that he is going to be looking to answer your question on a thread that he hasnt thought about since JANUARY 2006? If you have this problem make your own thread on the Tech Talk. Better yet use the search button

RUTH'LESSDET - It would have been better to PM him and see if he went that route. Since I have kouki turn signals, I will tell you what I ended up doing.
I found a junkyard S14 and snipped the two bumper sidemarker sockets and connectors (pigtails). I replaced the USDM front bumper turn signal ones with these and used the existing USDM front bumper sidemarkers for the side lighting of the JDM turn signal. I only went this route because I didn't have the original JDM harness and in my state (VA) there needs to be a bumper sidemarker light. I hope this makes sense.

Thanx for the the help :mrmeph: obviously i used the search button to find this thread you retard...next time keep your negative comments to your self. So what if the thread is a year old that means by now he probably figured it out...and probably would not mind telling me. Dont you have anything better to do than going around looking for old post.

It's easy, also if u decide to not use fogs anymore u can wire them to turn on/off with the fog switch stalk.I did it that way out of sheer boredom.

can you actually do that with the s14 turn signals? i tried doing this for my s13 kouki turn signal lights but i found out that you either need a dual filiment bulb/drill a hole and stick another bulb in there and make a custom harness or make some kind of wiring scheme with automotive relays. i tried to learn more about relays on the12volt.com but gave up so i just spliced wires and ran them how they were intended stock (position lights always on/turn signals always off and only blinks when you signal)
don't worry about ppl ethugging you about reviving an old technical threads. i dont know why its a common nowadays for everyone to state 'this thread is over xx amount years old' for EVERY thread revivied including technical threads. we want ppl to search, but everyone is quick to flame every revived old thread and it'll just discourage ppl to use the search function. if it was a fs/wtb thread i would understand the flame but not this. you searched and didnt make another thread to clutter shit up. good job.

thanx for the help...yeah I'm not worried about some internet thug...plus he's a newbie to the forum anyway. I never b*tch at people whe they r asking for help because actually this was why this forum was created and also why the forum has a search. I looked thru about 6 different thread and none helped but this one was the same problem I was having...
