I don't know if anyone else was having this problem, but whenever I would have to cram anyone in the back of my s14, when the seat back was lifted back up and it would click into place, the person would sit in the passenger seat and as soon as I would take off, the seat would slam violently back about halfway down the rail before locking in place. I couldnt figure it out because the seat would seem secure but sure enough, everytime, they would slide back and hit the people's legs behind them.
I fixed this pretty quickly the other day. on the side of the seat, remove the seat lever plastic and the side plastic trim, and you will notice a little piece of metal connected by a spring. all you have to do is zip tie this piece of metal back and the seat will lock in whatever position you put it in.
basically, what happens is when you lift the seatback, this piece of metal pops out and while out, the seat doesnt lock all the way. there is a metal bar that sits in the middle of the rail, and the seat doesnt fully lock unless that tab hits the bar and locks back in place. they put the bar so far back that if your rear seat passenger's legs are right behind the seat, they have to be crushed for it to lock. with this piece zip tied back, the seat doesnt have to scoot back at all to lock, and the seat loses no functionality. I took a picture but left my camera at school, so if anyone isn't sure of my instructions, I can host it and stuff when I get back to school.
