Ok, so my friend hooked up my rsm-gp, but since I don't have the instructions, and since apexi, only provides the setting instructions, for the older rsm, I thought i'd try here. Does anyone here, know how the set the rsm, so that my governor, does not kick in? I have tried several ways, but to no avail. Everytime, I almost peg my needle, which is 180kmh, on my cluster, the car refuses to go anymore. I let go of the gas, and when the speed drops, then she responds again. So, i'm assuming, my speed cut is still active. This is on an sr, unless my friend hooked it up wrong, if you guys have a wiring diagram, for the where the wires from the rsm, go to the redtop ecu, that would be good too.

ummm..... i beleive its something to do with your 5th gear sensor. i heard that if you unplug it then the cut off isnt there anymore.... you can also go past the 180 mark in 4th gear!:hsdance:

Can anyone elaborate? Is this true? Someone, must know.

There is no 5th gear sensor for SR's, only the Reverse sensor, Neutral sensor, and the Speed Sensor. So no you can't unplug your 5th gear sensor because there isn't one. This trick is for KA's only.

thats how your speed governor works. its reads your rpms and looks at the gear you are in and decides how fast you are going. so in 5th gear at a certain rpm it cuts spark, i dont know anything about the rsm but hks makes a harness for about 100 bucks that can solve that problem.

Not all systems use a gear sensor for your speed governor! SR's have no gear sensors! Only neutral and reverse gear sensors so the only gears the computer knows that you are in is neutral and reverse. The governor on SR's gets its signal directly from the Speed Sensor.

All of this, isn't telling me, if the rsm is doing it's job or not. Does anyone here, use an rsm, and has it set, so that you can go faster than 115 mph? If so, please help me, so that I can do it to my car.

Wow, i'm surprised that no one else, is actually using an rsm. Is it a bad product, or something?
