Looks good so far.
I wanna see engine shots :)
Looks good, already saw pics on LKT.
Did you crash your front end or is it in good shape still?*zenki*
if it's in good shape and it's not in the garbage or sold or whatever, i could use a few parts off of it most likely. I'll send you a PM some time soon.

Nice car, and good luck with the build up.

have you actually drifted?
not trying to be an ass or anything, just wondering,
because if you've never done it, time/money is better spend on seat time
and knowing what mods would fit better instead of having xxx hp/trq...
otherwise, nice looking build up

I'd suggest throwing up some more tech info. Otherwise this thread will be locked as this could have been covered in the Introduction Thread and Picture Thread.

i have drifted, quite a bit. and have alot of help in the areas that i lack in, like banked ovals. this is not my first 240, just my first time on this site.
i will be running the usdrift and a couple of other events this year, and hope to qulify for formula d the follwing season.
the turbo is actully a tossup between the gt35 and several trims of the gt30
this s15 engine will be stock bottom end and we are looking for 400-450 out of it. I also have another long block that i am in the process of building. as for the tranny. it is an s15 6spd, and when my second one comes in, we will be cryo-treating to withstand the abuse. inside the car i have custom momo rookie fia seats, sabelt 3in sixpoint harness, stack gauge-cluster. and every thing will be boxed in w/carbon.
heres a before engine pic

Sounds interesting, hope you aren't running over a .63 A/R on that GT35R..as I think that turbo is way too big to be efficient....
But the car looks good, and I wish you much luck..

alot of bling bling exterior parts that arent neccessary imo for a track drift car.. just gonna cry when you damage those parts.. but nice build! love the cage.

looks like it will be a great car man. keep up the great work. I too would say that the GT35R will be way out of it's effeciency range for you. Now given with the right cams and tuning you could get away with it but with so many other options that will spool faster, be more in your effeciency range and not to mention a whole hell of a lot cheaper you might want to look at your choice again. just a recommendation. you do what works for you and best of luck to you on the build.

Whoa... keep looking. Your rod is going to get aquianted with a hole in your block and your old bearings are gonna hate all the abuse and shatter.
Maybe its just my "worst-case-scenario" outlook, but trust me... a couple months of downtime (waiting on parts and time and money) because of a blown motor sure puts a damper on things. Now i have a brand new bottom end, done right, hopefully able to take the abuse better. I would just suggest to people wanting to abuse their cars (ie drifting) that you rebuild the whole engine before you put it in. C'mon, think about it, its just sitting there waiting for it. In this instance i can't help but wonder why spend the time and money to build that WRC-worthy cage with a stock bottom end old POS?

it attracts attenton to the car. and attention=more sponsors
i dont pay for repairs and replacement parts. I know the car will be wrecked, thats part of the spor and i accept that, when this car is done we are starting on a replacement shell.

How many of them were race/drift cars?
l8apex
12-28-2005, 03:47 PM
drag cars, and thats much harder on the motor imo
DoriftoSlut
12-28-2005, 03:54 PM
Well imo it isn't. 11 seconds of hell versus avg. 20 minute sessions at drift events. Diff. of opinions.
