Got tein tie rod and tie rod ends. Now I have to get the stock ones from steering rack. I was told to hammer them out but since I plan to change the steering rack in the spring, I need to know how to seperate the tie rod and tie rod ends without damaging them so that I could preserve these tein ones in the future swap.

If any one has done it, how did you take your old tie rod and tie rod end from steering rack without damaging them? I am searching but if you could tell me your experience, would appreciate a lot.

Lefty loosy, righty tighty....Seriously.

To get the outer out use a 3lb hammer. One good blow and it COMES! out

The tierod end removal from the knuckle is easy. Take the bolt off, but left it still screwed on. Bang the knuckle with the hammer, and it should pop right out. If not, try again.

Then for the rodm you've got to pry off the square plate, and use a vice to undo it out of the rack. And then you're done!

Wanted to know if there is another process that doesn't involve hammering.... Looks like there isn't.

Thanks Zar for the tutorial too.

Don't thank me, I simply found it. Thank the great Dousan for explaining and showing it.
