View Full Version : Small ECU next to ebrake?

What is it for? I gutted my whole car. No seatbelts rear seats carpet or AC. I was wondering if I really needed it?

Its more than likely your air bag sensor, might help if you tell us what year it is

Or if it's an older s13 with manual seatbelts, that would be the cpu for that crap.

typo!!!.....auto seatbelts do! Ive always wondered if that thing controlled anything BESIDE the seatbelts, anyone got word on that or may I ditch that trash?

Its from the s13. Dont really know whats it for. But I did take out my auto seat belts. So I want to trash this if I dont need it. LMK.

Yeah sorry, it was a typo, I meant auto belts. You can indeed trash it if you've removed the auto belts, that's what I did and haven't noticed any ill effects so I don't *think* it serves any other purpose.

Removed it years ago when I put in manual seatbelts.

No other function besides to warn the driver/passengers they don't have seatbelts on -- seatbelt light in guage cluster.

Doesn't affect ECU or car in any other way.

It clearly says 'AUTO BELT CONTROL' or something similiar on the case. Did you really have to make a post and ask anyway?
