is this that shi.ty to deal with?
does any californian here had problem with it?
I know there are numerous 240s out there in soCal with SRs or RBs.. but I see some threads about getting impounded and shiet...

i was gonna get a s13 with sr20det in it and the seller got it smogged already by bribing the smog guy. after searching some posts about it, I am little confused and scared.. LOL

he told me that he never had a problem wit popos and they never will until you go too insane on a public street.
do you think so?

when do they ask you to pop up the hood?
are they allow to see under the hood for.... speeding, improper turn or no seat belt,..etc like any traffic violations? nevermind on this one... I know they can just bs anything for probable cause to search if they wanted.. let me put this way then, does most of them know what differences btw sr and ka?

does DMV check under the hood when I bringing in the car to cahnge the registration?

and is it pretty easy to find a bribable smog shop here in soCal?

moving out of california for it is not worth it to me LOL
so plz don tell me to move out.. I still luv Cali
but i do feel little jealous about FL people.

any comments appreciated

cops have a handbook with different popular engine swaps so they will be able to distinguish between the SR, RB, CA and KA engines. As for smogging, if u dont kno anyone already then good luck. Cops can pop ur hood at anytime and there are numerous threads about it, use the SEARCH engine to look up about it.

Honestly, if u have this many concerns and are this paranoid, dont get a 240 with a SR. Dont risk it if u are this worried about it. There are better ways around a 240 with a SR so dont get it just so u can be part of the bandwagon. If ur really hung onto 240s, just turbo charge a KA and dont worry as much as having an illegal engine. I used get scared and had the same feelings about being popped or gettin my stuff impounded but after a while, i dont care as much. Worse comes to worse, u just have to do a swap back to KA and take it to a ref to sign it off. BUT MY SUGGESTION FOR U, DONT GET THE CAR

*im being nice right now cuz im pretty sure others will flame u pretty soon since this general topic has been discussed plenty of times*

Negative, Ghostrider - the pattern is full.

(this topic has been discussed ad inifinitum, and talking about illegal bribery on our forum is a no-go.)
