Just a quick question.. I have an s13 sr in my s14. stock temp gauge is pinned at "H" i know i need to swap sensors off of the ka to my sr. the cts is the two wire plug and the temp sensor for the gauge cluster is the one wire.
do i need to change the coolant temp sensor? or just the plugs that go into the cts and temp sender to the gauge. also, what year ka plugs do i use?
thanks

coolant temp sender. its the smaller one.
sensor goes to ecu, and your using sr ecu with sr sensor therefor its ok unless the sensor went bad.
good luck.

use S14 sender and you'll be fine.

Yups, for S13 SR into S14 chassis, you need to ditch the SR temp guage sensor for the stock KA one. If you already ditched the KA with the sensor still in it, hit up the dealer, sensors usually ~$25. Just make sure u get the right one. Get the skinny gauge temp one, not the 2-prong ECU sensor.

I have a s13 SR in a s14 chasis, and it's been fine for about 2 years, till just lately. Now whenever I touch the gas pedal it goes straight to the C. If I'm coasting or whatever it goes back to normal. Sounds almost like some sorta ground problem to me. But anyways, I've been trying to figure out WHERE and WHAT the sensor looks like.. If anyone had any pictures or can describe where it is better i'd REALLY appreciate it. Past threads don't help much either..
Thx,

I swear to all thats holy I answered this on FA like 2 days ago so i'll give you my solution... instead of wasting your time fixing the stock POS temp sensor use this time to get a REAL temp sensorthat actually tells you more than "cars off - cars on - motors blown" because thats the three positions the stock temp sensor reads.

i'm in process of ripping out my KA to put in an S13...all things I've read said I didn't need to keep anything from the KA other than AC (which I'm ditching anyway)
so now i know to keep the temp sensor (KA)...is there anything else I need to keep???
