Where can I get these? The ones I had are either rusted beyond repair, cracked, or missing.
These are the ones that go between the block, and the exhaust manifold. I believe there are 6 sets? or was it 4? I think it's 6.
I called Nissan, and they want like $4.00 a stud, $9.00 a bolt.
Are there any alternatives? I was thinking of just using a bolt with a washer. Instead of a stud?
Is there any places where I can get "aftermarket" studs and bolts? I looked at ARP and they're like $145 a set.
Any engine rebuilders can help me out? Hook me up? :)

Oh, and I think I have some of the part numbers for these studs and nuts.
Not sure if they're right, because the parts guy was tellin it to me rather quick.

on my KA24E i did buy Nissan studs (you are not going to find them anywhere else, I tried .) As far as the bolts and washers, I bought mine from Toyota.Ask for Exhaust studs bolts for a 92-96 Corolla with a 1.6 or 1.8 liter and they bolt right up. Copper with washer and where $4.00 each i think. :)

Kragen, perhaps?
Call Courtesy Nissan, maybe theycan get you a better price.
If not, time to go to the junkyard

Its hard to pull em out from the junkyard as well, because I have tried!
And it always smells like shit in those junkyards, I think people crap in the cars cuz they have no where else to go.
Any more suggestions? Courtesy Nissan, I will give them a call.

With a stud puller you can have them all out quick to hold your breath if the smell really is that bad.

buy the nissan ones or something similar of grade 8 or better. cheap bolts will break off and then you are REALLY screwed. you also will want to put some antisieze or other compound to keep the bolts from seizing in there if you ever expect to take them out without breaking them off.

Go to a hardware store, not homedepot, but an actual hardware store carrying strictly bolts and such.

For bolts that important... find a part-out. Or go new. They're treated or tempered to withstand the abuse of being an exhaust manifold bolt. OEM or ARP. No hardware store bolts for engine related bolts.

Yeah, otherwise I would of already went to OSH or Home Depotzzzz.
is there any way of removing broken studs?? besides dye and tap? my bolts are so old and brittle, that they snapped on me.

you can make an edge in it, so you can turn it out with a screw driver.
get a dremel and cut a line across the bolt so you get a flat head groove.

Not too possible when the bolt is snapped off inside the block.....

yah, you just have to use a different dremel bit. or a small drill bit

The whole reason that it's stuck is that it's all fugged up probably.
If you weren't able to get it out using the head of the bolt still on it, then the stud is probably stuck in there pretty good.
I think I may have solved my problems, I was able to order the bolts for a cheaper price.
BUt for some reason, they source I am buying it from says the tops are bolts, while the bottoms are studs? I dont know anymore, I give up.

Yes, that is the way that the car came stock, bolts on top, studs on bottom...

Wow, dude, like, buy a can of PB blaster and get some real tools.
Studs should not be hard at all to remove, I do it all day long at pick & pulls.

I dont have a problem removing studs, it's just that I misplaced them :P
And then at the junkyard, all the friggin manifolds had either shitty hardware store bolts, or they're missing stuff.
I already ordered a new set.

you need to soak the bolts/studs in wd40/PB blaster/whatever
for removing studs/bolts broken off inside the head you have a few options:
1. e-z-out kit (may not be the real name) from sears. this is a reverse drill bit set that bites into the broken stud and spins it out. use some cutting oil for lubrication when drilling into the stud. if you break one of these off and get it stuck in the bolt, forget it. they are made of hardened steel and you will not be able to drill them out (see #3).
2. weld a piece onto the broken stud/bolt that you can then grip and remove.
3. drill out the bolt, re-tap it for a larger bolt. this usually requires a drill press and removal of the engine cause its real hard to drill a straight/perpendicular hole with a hand drill.
4. crazy expensive laser cutting removal. gota send the head out for this one.
5. new head.
