I am having a problem, maybe someone here has had a similar problem and they can help me diagnose it. I took my car to get gas, everthing was running fine. There were no wierd sounds or spuddering. The car seemed to be running perfectly. I turned the car off at the gas pump, filled the tank, got back in the car and it wouldnt start.
The stereo, air conditioning, horn, all the accessory power, all that stuff is working fine, so I know its not the battery. Just to double check, I had the gas station attendant hook it up to a battery booster pack, and still the car wont turn over.
I checked the master engine fuse, and all the accessory
The car does make a click when I turn the key to start, but it doesnt crank over. Has anyone had a similar problem to this? Is there a common problem that KA motors have that keep them from starting like a faulty starter or anything like that?
Thank you.

Im willing to bet its corrosion on the battery terminals. If not try tapping the starter with a wrench or something while trying to crank.

it sounds like it may be the starter solenoid. do this: have someone turn the key on and hold it there as if you're trying to start the car and have another person hit the starter solenoid with long pry bar. a lot of times if solenoid is faulty it will engage

there have been countless threads on this, i know because i searched,

but even if i was feeling nice, the two guys up there already answered.

for me however, it was the ACC relay. I took it out, cleaned it out, and tapped it a few times, put it back in and WALA! no more starting problems.

also, i did a full tune up.

clean out your throttle body...cant hurt

i really do appreciate all the insight. I did some searching but couldnt find anything that was specific to my cause.
I pulled the battery cables on both sides off and made sure they were clean, so I think I can rule that out.
I will definitly clean out the throttle body. I think its the reason my car idles rough when cold started. Ive been meaning to do that.
Its crappy. I dont think I know enough about the KAs electrical to just go do that. I may have some of the mechanics at my work take a look at it on monday and see if they can solve it. Thanks again

Alright. I went back and hit the starter with a screw driver, and it did the job. Thank you very much for your help. I feel stupid now for starting this thread. I did some more searching and found a bunch of threads on this topic. My bad. Newby mistake
