I ordered a new radio trim to replace my cracked one but the problem is that it does not come with a cigarette lighter. I want to remove the lighter out of my old trim and put it in my new one but the thing will not budge and I do not see any screws. I do not want to break it. Has anyone done this before?

Jesus Christ, am I reading this right? This would almost be hilarious to read if it wasn't so pathetic.

The lighter socket pushes right out with about as much as effort as you guys are putting into using your brain cells.

Yours must be much different than mine then, I have pushed with tons of force and it does not budge. I have tried everything.

ALL S14 radio bezels are the same. And every one I've ever had and/or replaced for people pops right out. There's two pieces, the socket and the illuminated ring. Each one comes out with minimal effort. If you've tried everything than I hope you're involved in a terrible accident for the sake of those around you. How do you even have strength to turn the ignition key?

I know this thread is almost a year old but I just replaced my radio trim and wanted to help out those who were wondering about the cigarette lighter. Like Russ said, both parts just push out. First push the socket out slowly towards the front and take out. Then push the plastic part on the opposite side of the black piece and it'll come out a little with a little force. Since the plastic piece is diagonal on the back, once you get that side out, you'll be able to take the whole thing out without removing the black piece that you think won't fit through the hole. Took a couple minutes to figure out. Lucky I didn't give up and decide to break things.
