View Full Version : JDM S14 wind visors at Courtesy
Maybe it's old news, searched but didn't find anything, but just a heads up for since some people don't seem to know where to get em. Courtesy now carries em for ~$90.

The way I see it, the more people that have em the less of a target each car is to all the JDM whores/thieves. I know from personal experience, someone broke into my S14 earlier this year to steal my stock head unit and digital climate control. :ghey:
EDIT: LOL so many haters that wanna keep it to themselves. I guess if y'all really want me to delete this thread I will cuz I don't really care either way. :bigok:

so I dont have to make a new thread for my question, i'll ask in here..
what kind of strength double sided tape, if any, are you guys using along with the clips? i'm thinking of using my industrial strength tape, but im afraid if i want to take it off one day it might tear the paint off my soon to be newly painted a pillars.. i'm afraid of thieves if i use weaker tape, but the industrial strength holds that bad boy real good, i use the same thing for my roof wing. so anyway, tell me how you guys got yours on..
thanks

If you use the stuff it comes with the visors will crack if someone tries to steal them. Trust me I know... someone tried to steal mine and fucked them up. Nissan ships them with the same 3M 5lb double sided tape that can be found at Home Depot/OSH etc... just clean the stripping and it will stay on good... shouldn't mess up your paint unless you're an @$$ and don't install them right.

The unit itself and about 6" of the JDM Wire harness.... re connect the USDM wire in color order and the big Blue and Black ones... thats really it.... you can also do it to where you can splice the harness and swap units at will.
Oh Yeah... I've had the JDM Visors for awhile and the Double sided tape is super stong... If you place it wrong your S.O.L. :boink:

^ What he said. Make sure to apply and install the tape in warm weather too, anything below 70 degrees and they'll likely come off at speed. You should also clean both surfaces well with alochol to get any wax or residue off.
I lost one of my first visors that way, applying tape when it was somewhat cold out, luckily the were used and chewed up anyway. New in the box set was only $34 through YahooJP so I feel better about it now.

for as cool as they are, i really wouldnt get them for an s14 drift car. MAINLY because if you dont have a full cage, there is no where for the passenger to hold onto EXCEPT the a-pillar outside of the car. coincidentally, this is exactly where the "wind visors" aka "rain gaurds" go. anyways, thats just me.
oh, and yes, i know its dumb to hold onto the outside of the car, especially while drifting....just incase of a roll over, but I'M holding onto the wheel...so it's all on the passenger. haha :duh:

Why would you guys have passengers in the car anyway? More weight, plus you know they're going to scuff the kick panels with their shoes, and scratch the console trying to buckle the seatbelt. Other people don't seem to care about someone else's car when they're in it.

yea, i'd love to get a passenger bucket seat BUT it makes it harder to cram 4 rims/tires in the "back seat" since the bucket wont move far enough forward to jam 'em all in. same goes for if you have a roll cage, it's still pretty hard to cram tires in the back. I can't always have my friends(the people i give the rides to) bring my tires in a truck for me. ah damn, where has drifting gone? I need to buy a truck and trailer now.

Did you? You do realize that if the pricing doesn't change from a distributer, the retail price doesn't change, right?
I know for a fact that the price that Phase 2 gets on these visors has not changed for the past 2 years. So you didn't get ripped in the ass, Courtesy just happened to get a better price on these or a price change was made at the distributer level and was not reflected in the wholesale/retail pricing.
You could have easily shopped around; Phase 2 does price matching.

You have to understand that Phase 2 is not a Nissan dealer. They don't have the good discounts as all those online Nissan dealer. They get parts through Nissan Motorsports from Japan for 40%-50% off the retail. So you do the math.

That's kind of beating your chest about it, but I guess since you guys pay to advertise here you can do that from time to time.
As far as Phase2's prices, if there isn't a reliable source for parts most places have to buy direct just like anyone else would and mark it up to make a profit. It's only been recently that a lot of the overseas market parts have become available, so at the time when they were the only game in town $225 wasn't too bad of a price. It's not like they get a bigger cut than anyone else would get, they were just doing the legwork and getting the parts here. If you buy something for $100 and pay $50 to get it here, would you sell it for anything less than $200?
Look at Ecode lamps, before the demand came in we were looking at paying direct UK pricing plus shipping/import tax pushing them over $700 a pair. Now that a dealer network is involved the price dropped heavily. Same with anything else.

BINGO. Nice said, thank you.
We had lower some of our common SR OEM parts pricings today that are now widely available in the states as oppose to what it was back then 3 years ago. However, we still can't beat any of the Nissan dealer's pricings (i.e courtesy, performance or superior) simply being we are not Nissan dealer, even though we still price match them just to honor our customer's order from time to time.
Given by the fact some of the Nissan dealers carry some SR parts now, we still consider ourselves tailoring the most OEM SR replacement parts than any dealers so far, we are doing so just to provide the service and option for people to buy them here in the states at the time when they needed. I am actually glad more Nissan dealers are carrying these parts so in the near future we can just focus on aftermarket new products rather than getting the confusion from customers thinking we are ripping them off when the person probably bought that visor at the time when no other dealers in the USA had it.
Best Regards

They're this shit cause you can let the windows down all day long & no one is the wisor because of this visor. .. .those hot ass days you wanna go out in the AC unequipped silvia of yours, you'll apprecaite them.
The rain, you can have the window cracked, they deflect heavy winds, they keep yah' lady happy cause the wind will be diverted to the rear of the cockpit more than the highlights of her hair. .. .so

cool because i can now smoke in the rain. also it help block wide sunshine on a bright day, roll down window and have less wind noise, get fresh air on a rainy day without turning on ac/heater, keep window rolled down a lil on a hot day yet prevent people from sticking their finger/hand in an attemp to pull window. dude there a lot of reason for these, that is why I bought it.
