havent seen it yet, but i can already fill in whats involved into making it ASCII...

just taking a screen capture at a slowed down frame rate for example 15fps. Thats about 900 frames per minute and about 81,000 frames for a 90 minute movie @ 15fps. You can actually write a command script for your favorite movie editing program to take screen captures every 15 frames. Export to image sequence. Then run a batch process to convert all those images into ASCII...

it'll take a good few hours :tweak:

This isn't that kind of process though. They actually "drew out" their own version of the characters. Almost like up scale stick figures. I know the kind your are talking about, they look pretty bad-ass. This is much simpler, but would've taken much longer.
