I posted this in another thread, but didnt get any answers. I just installed a greddy oil temp sensor in my SR. I have a Greddy oil pan so I just put it in where the extra hole is near the drail plug. I let the car idle for 10 min and it didnt move. The only things I can think of is either the car doesnt warm up enugh without a load on the motor, or it needs to ground out on the oil pan. I used thred tape, so maybe thats not allowing for a good gound. Anyone have any ideas? Its hard for me to test drive my car because I dont own a track and its very NOT street legal.

Greddy temp senders are two wire, grounded through the gauge. Sounds more like a bad sender.

or the car just didnt get warm enugh for the gauge to read it. The gaues starts at 30 C which is 86 F. Maybe it just cant warm up all that oil at idle. I gotta take it for a drive.

Unless it's really cold out, oil heats up pretty quickly.

Well once the car is at its operating temp per stock temp gauge...the oil should be hot by then. How I can tell my oil is hot enough is when my oil pressure starts dropping. When cold, it starts off at round 4 bar at idle...when hot its at around 1.5 bar. This on 10-40W oil.
