The first Album I remember owning was the Soundtrack to "Beat Street" featuring Grandmaster Melle Mel and the Furious Five.

Hey, it was 1984, I was 5. :rawk:

Anyway, bring on your contributions, and be sure to add Album art when you can. If anyone's first album was a CD, I going to ban you for being too damn young!

... got them all at the same time, late 89, early 90. Everything before that was sitting next to the radio with a tape to record my favorite songs on pause.

I have never bought a tape or a cd in my life. I have lived on the internet too long.

I have been on the internet for a long time too, but I will be DAMNED if I let that curb my CD buying:

... outgrew that one a while back and still got CDs all over the house in wait for me to buy/build another

Remember what life was like before the internet?
... What about before CDs?

I can't remeber quite how old I was,or the year. But I remeber the tape vividly. I didn't even have a decent tape (yes, tape) player at the time so that tells you how young I was...

Beastie Boys-License to Ill.

My first was Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer. Yup they were CD's, and they came in those big ass boxes. I also got shortl after that LL Cool J walking with a Panther, and Kid and Play 2 Hype.

MC Hammer - 2 Legit 2 Quit (CD Single)

Sad but true.

I remember when I first bought it I thought "damn these things are expensive, I'll never buy a lot of these, too expensive."

Last CD I actually bought was Wu Tang Clan - Wu Tang Forever (Double CD)

The Wu is so hard, I had to buy their albums since 36 Chambers, well worth the money.

Tical, Ironman, Liquid Swords, damn those were the good old days.

And let's not forget Bone Thugs - Creepin on a Come Up EP, instant classic.
