After having my spec stage 3 clutch installed i drove the car around for while to break in the clutch. At about 200 miles the car started making a weird noise. At first it was a treamendous virbration noise, sounded like something in the cat. It would happen around 3,500 rpms and up but it would only make the noise when i was off the throttle. Now when i am disenganging the clutch to start moving it sounds like the damn clutch is going to fall apart inside of the tranny. there is a vibration under the car sorta seems like the driveshatf when ever im on the throttle at about 4k all the way to redline. There is just a whole lot of noises coming from in the tranny and i dont have the feintest idea as to what it could possibly be. If anyone has experience anything like these before please help, thanks ahead of time.

Since you "had it installed." take it back. You paid money to have it done right.

springs in the clutch dont match the vibration frequency. ur clutch is fine. i have an ACT XHD w/ 6 puck unsprung. mine dont have springs and there for there is no dampening of vibrations. reason i have no springs on my clutch is for harder and faster engagements when shifting. but anyways, i get that same vibration and i spent close to $1000 trying to figure out what the hell that noise was. so thats what it is, you can buy a closer to stock clutch or ur gonna have to deal with the noise..
oh and its not ur driveshaft..i ended up buying a whole new tranny, and driveshaft and replaced the aCt clutch (maybe thought it was a manufacturer defect so i did an exchange)

I dont believe that it is because of the springs. I have heard some pretty crazy clutch chatter on my buddies old supra and this isnt the same thing. I wish i could show you guys what it sounds a feels like.

Im telling you, if you have no springs on your clutch, you will get vibration noise. Loud ones. Some manufacturers put springs on their 6 pucks to dampen the vibrations causing noise. That is why the springs are there. They are also there to soften the clutch engagement. Oh, and the noise will get louder if you have LSD, subframe spacers, ect.
Theres a huge thread somewhere on freshalloy.com about this...just gotta find it. Oh and if it is the clutch causing that noise you should get a different one. It will fuck with your tranny, luckily mines ok but im throwing in a new clutch soon.
