My CEL is on, diagnostics tell me is the EGRC solenoid (code 105). I know where it is, right behind the back of the engine about midway down. I can touch it, but i cant really get to it. What would be the procedure to remove and reinstall one? Seems like i would either have to drop the tranny, or remove many many parts from the top just to create room. Any info would be great. Thanks

If this is an S13, then it's a PITA, since the secondary-butterly vac stuff is back there...and the EGRC is bolted to a little bracked that's bolted to the head...it sucks.
S14 is a little better...but still a pain.
Start removing stuff to gain access, that's the only way.
You can use a jack on the rear of the trans to tilt the engine forward, to gain a little room to work.

Thanks, its an S14, i tried squeezing my hand back there, but theres no way to remove it. Any idea how many bolts or screws there are to remove that bracket? i cant even see it.

I took mine out of my s13 without too much of a problem, but I also have my EGR stuff removed. Its also an s14 engine in an s13 if that makes any difference.
BUT, there should be just one bolt in the middle of the bracket. Good luck!
