Not much to 'splain.
Went to Daikoku, took pics, went home.

Yum. The McDonald's Filet-O-Shrimp sandwich.

A 300C Hemi - baller status for out here - it's not cheap to own imported cars, cars with high displacement, and brand new cars in general. This guy probably spent in the neighborhood of 15-30k over MSRP to be able to rock that puppy out here.

You go ahead and tell me what these are - I haven't the faintest.

A nice phatty minivan. Dig the negacamb.

I like this Laurel. It makes my shorts get tight.

Who knew a Speedster would come park next to the Phatwagon?
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/9057/80fu.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Not personally an Alfa-Romeo lover, but thought this looked nice.
Had alot of gawkers for it's carbon fiber hood and trunk.
http://img494.imageshack.us/img494/9189/96lq.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Viper GTS and Lamborghini Diablo. Pretty much just another night at Daikoku.

Don't let this guy hear you dissing his van's artwork. He's liable to get all super-saiyan on your ass.

Mostly stock 15 with some bling-spec BNR32 GT-R wheels.
http://img494.imageshack.us/img494/8628/128yi.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
The ONLY S13 Silvia I saw tonight. Probably had the cleanest paint of any car out there though.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8982/132jj.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Nice & clean 15. Poser-spec R33 wheels though.. 17x8 +30 knockoffs. I heard baby Jésus crying.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4424/140sv.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Cosmo and FC. Good god I wish I could describe the sounds that Cosmo was making. :bite:
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4149/151tv.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
A Varietta 15. Nothing special, just thought someone would like to see it.
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9756/163ez.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
One of the sexiest cars out there tonight. I'd rock it 6 ways to Sunday.
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9206/176tw.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This 14 was ok. Looked like it had stuff where it needed stuff, but unfortunately, everywhere else was clogged with rice. (Neon sticks, etc).

Awesome as always Meph! How often do these meets occur?
mrmephistopheles
11-18-2005, 04:24 PM
Ben, more common than you'd think. We dont' see them often like every day, but once a week is a pretty good average.
Option - that is stupid. ;) It's a rest stop/truckstop on a little island beneath the onramp to the Rainbow bridge in Yokohama. It's also a popular hangout for car enthusiasts of all shapes, sizes and styles. (there was a Ford Probe there last night.... wtf?)
Exit - not so much a meet as a typical conflagration. Some of the groups of ppl & cars there were from clubs that decide to meet there at that time. Some were just loners showing up to show off/check out others cars. It's all pretty random.
Logan, yes it does, but I dont' know either.
Barry - every Friday and Saturday - supposedly Saturday is when the bozos show up and it can be dangerous, but one of these nights I plan on testing my luck.
Here's a link to chokudoris13's thread from way back when (that includes some saturday night pics)

Shit, people park their nice cars beneath Japan's freeways there...over here, what do we have underneath freeways? Homeless people, garbage dumpsters, my car, and...well...it's the parking lot they assign interns at my work place.

In the country they are somewhat rare-ish, ya see em around every now and then. But in the city they are a lot more common however.

Funny that you show a pic of a 300C with Giovanna wheels (not spinners by the way.) cause I was just talking with my buddy who works at Giovanna last night. He was telling me how Japan is one of their fastest-growing markets, and they ship wheels over there by the sea-container. Apparently they're just now getting into the SUV/Luxury-Sedan/bigass wheels trend over there... Must be all those Japanese 'ballers !

Actually, that is the stock aero on SRT-8 versions of 300C's.
On those old-looking cars, the one on the right looks like a kit car (the fenders look like fiberglass and the wheels just aren't right), the one on the left looks like a Jag SS100. Also, is that a Cadillac Deville behind the vert?
By the way, awesome pics as usual.

Yeah, it's because I'm a mod/admin.
That's the response you wanted to hear, right?
It's not in the pic thread because there are no pics of my car (ok, well not of my Nissan anyway), and it IS 240 related because it contains as many pics of 13s, 14s, and 15s as I could get that night.
That, and all the rest of the Daikoku threads are in Chat.

auctually this is more along the lines of an event photoshoot, whitch could go in a regional section. But zilvia only has a USA and CANADA regiona section. so a japan regional meet with the sole purpose of NOT featuring the posters car would fall in chat or Off topic, but as it does feature a good many 240s, chat is just as good as off topic.
or he could have just put in in the premium scetion and locked out alot of the board from the pics, but chose to share instead. it's always nicer to share.

the car Boso's arent bad..in Mainland and here the Boso's that would cause any potential problems are usually the Bikers.alot of them now adays steal and joyride scooters for anight then ditch them..alot of them put fence pipes on 1000 CC bikes and ride around holding up traffic and revving their motors criss crossing the street..the dangerous ones have sticks and have been known to hit cars..there was one night in Hirsoshima when I was trying to get around these f ucks and the kid tapped my car with a stick.I swerved and ran them into a ditch while denting my front fender at the same time...the cops dont care, and they would never call the cops so it is no big deal..finding a new fender and getting it painted was the only issue..I hate those fu ckers...I hear many a story of americans running bosos off the street and the cops truning the other way, or arresting the bosos anyway...

sick pics btwToday yen rate on base is 116 Yen to the Dollar..so exactly 5 bucks....
you can eat cheapo in Japan...even in Tokyo..I could i
live on 20 Bucks a day for food easy...less if I eat at convenient stores...beer is what gets you...some place will have deals like 100 or 200 yen drafts from like 5 to 8....but for the most part you are paying 500 Yen or more for a beer and that adds up...if you drink Sake it is much cheaper, just buy a bottle at your favorit pub or izakaya and it can last a couple nights..

the car Boso's arent bad..in Mainland and here the Boso's that would cause any potential problems are usually the Bikers.alot of them now adays steal and joyride scooters for anight then ditch them..alot of them put fence pipes on 1000 CC bikes and ride around holding up traffic and revving their motors criss crossing the street..the dangerous ones have sticks and have been known to hit cars..there was one night in Hirsoshima when I was trying to get around these f ucks and the kid tapped my car with a stick.I swerved and ran them into a ditch while denting my front fender at the same time...the cops dont care, and they would never call the cops so it is no big deal..finding a new fender and getting it painted was the only issue..I hate those fu ckers...I hear many a story of americans running bosos off the street and the cops truning the other way, or arresting the bosos anyway...
thanks for the great info/story.. thats hella cool man. mabe when I go to japan I can run some off the road too! lol jp...

are those guys u mentioned above that u ran over the same as the bashers i've heard of? i heard those guys steal cars and ram them into cool looking tuner cars. i also heard that they have mafia ties.
sorry for hijackin the thread mr meph..hope i dont get pinked
I have never heard of any boso's stealing cars and crashing them into other peoples car's that would be foolish and grounds for a serious ass kicking...they do steal mopeds as i mentioned and ditch them..as far as mafia ties..who cares..most Yakuza are a joke anyway as far as violence and being scared of..they make all their money of loansharking, blackmail, prostitution, and shit like that..They arent as viloent as in the Movies..I have met quite a few. Some like foreigners..I was in Thailand on DEPLM and could tell these guys were Japanese so struck up a conversation..ended up drinking off them for free all night, I knew they were Yaks..a tell tale sign they are nowadays is Running suits like FUbu or whatever the latest Urban brand is..and there will be a guy (the lieutenant or bitch boy) that carries a notebook and lights everyone elses smokes, pays for everything and sh1t like that..cool guys...
once you get talking to them..and of course I love the Pimped out Gloria's alot of them drive, and they always have some fine looking skanks with them :wackit:

It began with Function over Form, then grew into it's own fad. Search around, we've covered it before.

^^^ What he said..also it is a very functional..where are you gonna put it...some cars just do not have room behind the fornt bumper in a place that will still receive ambient cooling...on my list to do, but not visible if I can help it..especially needed in Okinawa's hot @ss summer climate

Say bye bye to your bandwidth. I just edited that first post so that the pics work again. :D
Amazing, I can't believe you took the time to do that :D... I mean, hell, you edited, copy pasted into Word, did Find-->Replace, pasted back into the post, clicked Post... That is way too much work for me, and it was my damn thread :D. Good work...
My buddies left here on the 29th, so they're probably running around Roppongi trashed right now, or hanging out at one of the random C1 rest-stops. Bastards.

I didn't think of putting into Word to do that. I just copied your URL over the old URL.

Two questions...
#1 Where can over-fenders like the ones on this silvia be purchased or fabricated?
#2 What is the wheel size/tire combination of this car?

I ate an EBI sandwich from McDonalds the other day. Gave me the serious shits. Never again.
Someone mentioned something about Japan being expensive. It isn't. Osaka and Tokyo are expensive. I live about an 1.5 hours from Osaka in a nice little city and I spend WAY less money than I did in the US. Food is cheap (Gusto, Joyful, etc.. friggin' blah blah) and rent is cheap. I only pay the equivelant of 500 a month for a nice ass apartment and I also rent a 3 bay garage with a lift for about 120 a month. The S15 Spec R I just bought cost me 800 bucks and a new head gasket plus about 600 for inspection:)
Someone else also mentioned something about whether or not you see alot of GTRs and EVOs here. I see them all the damn time. It's ridiculous. I would say everyday... hold on... I'm sitting at Mister Donut typing this and an S14, MR2, and R32 GTS-T just went by... what was I saying? Oh, yeah. Everyday I see at least 2 EVOs (neighbor has an EVO V), a couple WRXs, some MR2s, a number of Silvias and at least one GTR. The only thing I rarely see are Supras.
NIce pictures by the way meph...

What guage metal and how exactly would you go about fabricating them?

It does look better then the curry chicken burger I had in the UK. Although kfc had a sandwhich with egg, bacon, cheese, and a hashbrown! That thing was good!
