hey guys quick question

I replaced my radiator with a Koyo, and today my upper hose just went, I'm wondering do the aluminium radiators get hotter than the plastic ones? I know they feel hotter but maybe its just me and the heat transfer properties of the aluminium, but does an aluminium radiator put more heat into the hoses? reason I ask is I need new hoses, I ordered hose from Nissan but I'm thinking maybe it will happen again, and I should just go silicone

any thoughts and opinions?

thanks!

it was a random chain of events, not related. unless you didn't put the hose clamps on right.

cool, no everything was put on right, the hose just decided to split/crack the next day... just wondering about the heat

thanks

it was on its way out most likely, and bending it around from where it had been forever most likely did not help it.

Aluminum gets significantly hotter, but not enough to damage the hoses since they see heat from the coolant all day long.

did you put new hoses on recently or were they the original hoses, that were undoubtedly old, cracked, and worn out, no matter how good they appeared to be. its a good thing you caught it though and didnt overheat the motor. i decided to get some silicone hoses for mine so i wouldnt ever have to worry about it.
