while the tranny was in use? or while the tranny was being stored somewhere?

it was stored..now its in use because my other tranmission went poop on me. but i had pressure washed it so im getting this odd noise...i dont know just wondering what affects would be of water being where gear oil should be?

rusted bearing surfaces.
With oil added, that rust will form an abrassive liquid that will accelerate the wear.

get some spare mtf and flush it out realy good.
in the meantime start shopping for another used tranny IMO

id start search for a new tranny. OR if you do a really good job cleaning out the water, don't use GL-5 gear oil. It will form an abbrasive coating over the synchros. Hmm.. aznpoopy might be right to just shop for another tranny.

Maybe because we all knew already. Water + bare steel = rust. No surprise there.
