View Full Version : Trunk Lid?

Is there an S14 trunk lid that doesn't have the 3rd brake light on it? Specifically CF cause I have the Navan spoiler that has the LED 3rd brake light on it. I mean I could cover that up but I like the LED better...ViS doesnt have the one without the light i know that...atleast as far as i know...just let me know.

well i dont wanna paint the CF trunk right now...otherwise id do that...i could go ahead and do it to the spoiler too but i dont really wanna do that either...DAMNIT lol...i saw someone had a "JDM" one that didnt have a 3rd brake light on it...im guessing it was rare for the ones that had the rare navan spoiler?

some japanse ones dont have third brake light, and thats because the spoiler did have the light
so you get a JDM lid
or you do body work on yours

its as simple as that.

damn i guess ill end up doing the body work on mine unless i get lucky enough to find a lid without the light...

i thought maybe, just maybe a company out there that was available here made CF lids like that...

yeah but thats lame
body work takes only a few hours
weld a plate on back
some bondo
and your done
i did tha tw/ my old s13 and w/ my s14 now, no problems, no cracking. works great. did same for my trunk lid holes and antenna. when it gets painted (this week) will look like stock

Isnt the chargespeed cf trunk the only one without the third brake light?

Just used dynaglass(fiberglass reinforced bondo) with cardboard underneath. It's painted now :)

The 1994 Silvia did not have the 3rd brake light, but after that they switched to the light in the lid just like the rest of the world.

I welded mine in because I'm using the 94 JDM wing, it's nothing a good bodyshop can't knock out in an hour or two.

chargespeed does have CF trunks that dont have the 3rd light...looks like i will try to locate one...

I got the 94 trunk lid off ebay along with the navan wing... got lucky, got it cheap.

yeah ive seen your car and i think it looks hot...i already have the navan wing so thats a good thing
