Glad to see that I was successful in getting damn near the whole forum to join in on bashing my commentary. I would have actually liked to have one person at least take the time to READ my comments before flamming off at the mouth. Sometimes doing that saves you from looking like an ass. Let's clarify a couple of points. Before ASSuming that I'm a 16 year old spoiled brat whose parents bought him whatever he wanted, ask. For you're information, I am a 21 year old college student with a clean driving record, beautiful insurance, and a 91' 240sx I worked damn hard to get, and even harder to tune. Beyond that, I used that Public Service Announcement from F&F as an example of how contradictive it is to play a Politically Correct ass statement condeming street racing and then promote a two hour money making feature about street racing. (BTW how many of you watched the movie??? plenty I'm sure) It sounds just like people in here trying to be on both sides of the table, "sure, i like to race, but I recognize how dangerous it is". hell, anyone with common sense recognizes the possibilty of losing control and smashing your beautiful car into a mini-van full of kids, and ending up looking at life in the penn, but there are consequences to every thing we do. You could play professional football, break your neck and die, or "professionally" drive on the track, lose control, hit a wall and die in flames (Dale Earnhardt, rest in peace, god bless your soul.) No one said place innocent people at risk when you can help it, but for god's sake, CAN YOU ENJOY WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO YOUR CAR without having to say you're sorry for it. hell, the innocent people you all are "protecting" by condemning street racing aren't trying to protect you. They drive drunk, they drive without enough sleep, they do their makeup while driving, talk on the cell phone, need I say more? My point is that people will die on these roads regardless of the existence of street racing. It's an ugly truth, but it is truth, and I am not ashamed of doing a lil 0-60 from a stop light every now and then. I don't feel like I have to apologize for every "street racer" who gets a ticket, nor every one who loses his license. These things happen and will continue to happen regardless of whether you are racing, or just trying to get to work on time. I don't hate smart people, I hate people who claim to be smart and not condone "street racing", and then do it or speak of how much they enjoy it. Don't tell me you tune your cars to do 0-30 everywhere you go. You don't put in SR20's to protect the innocent, and everytime you try to be Politically Correct you really make yourself look like an absolute ASS. I tune my car to get the most potential out of it. I want it to be ungodly fast and I want people to know it, I don't mind showing out a lil every now and then, I go to the track, (I'm prepping up for the NOPI Nationals in Dinwiddie, VA right now as a matter of fact), and I don't feel like I have to apologize for loving what I do. I don't ask smokers to apologize for my asthma, and I don't ask people who drink to apologize for those who drive drunk. I hope that this time around people will actually read what I have to say instead of seeing NEWBIE and ASSuming I'm some rich kid who spending all of his time trying to emulate F&F. I am a man who enjoys getting the most of the work he did to his car, on the track, on the street in safe conditions, and at the show, and I won't apologize for it. I'll let you all who condemn me do that. For anyone who actually understood what I said instead of judging me, thank you.
