yea man, i look at these ads almost everyday and thats a pretty good deal..
The mileage is pretty sweet
if you are thinking about buying go check the car out, you might be able to even talk to the dude and get him to scrap off $500 or something...and like luey said, look for the danger signs... good luck

Dont wanna hijack the thread but I gotta ask: I heard of someone bringing inspectors along with them when they go to see the car. How much is it to hire one of them? And where could I go to hire one? I too have a 240 I'm looking at just like Kyolos but mines more expensive Might even have to fly out to tx. Hey Kyolo if your deal falls through please tell me so I can jump on that lol.

There might be paint damage, or it might be running funny, or rust.. lots of things could cause the price to be cheaper. Remember, there is ALWAYS a reason for a price to be at what it is. Basic Economics. But those economics are based on the sellers knowledge. So, if the seller knows A LOT about cars, and specifically his, then beware if the price seems to cheap. But if they don't appear to understand what the real market value is.. HOORAY! don't tell them. Just look out for the guy that acts like he knows nothing.

As far as hiring someone, I've never heard of that. But what I would suggest is asking them if you could take it to a local nissan dealer, and have them do a used car purchase check check on it. The nissan dealer near me does this for free. And they check out a LOT of stuff. Even if it costs $20-30. It's defintely worth it.

When preparing to go see my 240 (prior to purchase), I called Nissan to ask them what I could look at on the car. When I drove out, I checked all of the Nissan recommended areas on the car and found no issues. I then took the car to a local dealership and did an inspection called a "pre buy", which ran me about $100.

You car sounds like it is a good deal (given mileage/price). I would definitely look at the car and inspect it fully to make sure you aren't buying a junk heap disguised by the beautiful, awe inspiring body that is the MCs14. Make sure you either take the car to a mechanic YOU trust (not one he trusts..think about the implications), or that you take it straight to Nissan and have a throurogh inspection done.

check the body bolts/screws to see if the paint on them is still perfect, that'll help you tell if the car has been in a wreck. also check for orange peel and dust in the paint. those are easy things to see that the seller thinks they can hide, but you can't hide that from a trained detailers eye :::cue evil laugh:::

i always have the owner take me for a drive first. you can get a general feel about how good his is with his transmission and clutch. also, if he's an idiot, he'll try and rip around right after he starts it up cause he's trying to show the car off. if he does this, jump out of the moving car and run away as quickly as you can.

Thanks for the advices guys, just got his email reply, says no dings, dents, scuffs, in excellent shape, he's selling it with kbb.com Kelly Blue Book price, and the reason he's selling because he's moving to NYC. Well, it seems i will have to believe him for now, i will definite go take a look at this car, hopefully no big problems like you guys suggest.....but now the problem for me is i might need to fly to MN from Southern California....
still thinking if it's worth it to do so or not, but it definitely will save me much money, at least $2000$3000 than i expected to pay...

Well, my friend knows a lot, he told me no matter what i have to go see it and test drive it, he knows car a lot, he's my inspector and i will treat him a big good lunch or dinner if he's going with me..!!
ovaltine, no problem, if you are willing to fly to MN to get that car.
