Ok, I've been trying to find a house to buy lately, and as I've been saving I have been finding some things that I've wanted for quite a while that would be perfect for a new place.

I just got a PS2, now I want a big screen TV to play it on.  My 27" works fine, but I'm looking to get a 50" or larger projection screen, preferrably HDTV.

Who knows something about TV's that they could share so that I can be sure I'm getting a quality Television?  Here is what I'm thinking for now.

TIA

Well, I'm gonna get the Sony 65" XBR, someday <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

But if I were you I could get a wide screen format screen nd you dont need HDTV. In my searchs I learned that Sony, Hitachi, and Pioneer are the best.

Give us a price range and maybe we can help you find one.

I'm looking at under $2500. &nbsp; Now, I thought that HDTV was a better format for the projection screen (making it clearer and brighter).

Guess I was wrong?

It is but you cant even take advantage of HDTV until they start broadcasting channels in HDTV.

On projection TVs the screen is made up of pixels. I forget the proper terms for everything but lets say we compare the two 57' Sony and 57' Song XBR, the XBR has the HDTV receiver built in, as well the screen has something like 1 million pixels or more, while the other sony has far less. You wont notice a dif on normal TV broadcasts but if its received in HDTV then you will. Im still deciding if the XBR is even worth it. If I were you I would get ,This TV (http://www.circuitcity.com/ewebIMa/[email protected]@@@[email protected] @@@&BV_EngineID=ccehadcfdjljggecfngcfkmdffhdffh.0&catoid=-8041&bookmark=bookmark_16&oid=43361)

I own the panasonic 32" HDTV. I get HBO in high def. but that is it until they start adding more channels, i was told that will happen in the next 6 or so months. i love my TV! you've seen the displays at best buy. HD is the way to go. DVD's are so much clearer, you will not be dissapointed. i've owned mine for a year and couldn't be happier. Plus at best buy just get there credit card, i got my tv interest free for a year. I'd say go buy it.

I have a Panasonic Widescreen HDTV that is 47inch it was 1999.99 list but i got a couple 200 bucks knocked off the price because they were about 5 days later delivering it. But i have my PS2 hooked up to it and when i play my GT2 on widescreen there is nothing better i can tell you. It puts out a nice clear picture. Only thing is like NBC and ABC and Fox channels look like normal but my HBO Showtime Cinemax and all my other movie stations come in GREAT, along with my DVD's. But that is just me.
