View Full Version : lcd monitor as compatible wit progressive scan hdtv?
jus got new lcd screen, might add a dvd player with component video output too. would this work? going from component(dvd) to dvi-d(samsung 930b).
picture quality?

as long as your lcd screen has component input, it supports progressive scan. just dont forget to actually TURN ON the progressive scan feature on the dvd player. it does not come out of the box with it turned on. if you have any other questions, just let me know.
edit: reread your post.... DVI (digital video interface) is a digital video source (duh). component video is analog... soooooo, wtf? as far as i know, there is no such cable that is dvi on one end and component video on the other? either that or i am reading your post totally wrong. what exactly are you doing? is this an HD LCD tv or a lcd computer monitor? the title of you thread makes no sense to me, and i live this shit every day.
