My Ka's got 103k miles on it. should I be worried about getting the Timing chain replaced anytime soon? I called Nissan when I got it and they said since it has a chain it doesn't need to be changed. I thought this was a little od but it was something that I didn't have to pay for so I didn't ask any questions. Is this true. Cause I know if it breaks then it costs about twice as much to get it fixed as if you get it changed before it breaks.
Thanks,
Dave

That's bullshit. Just because it's a chain doesn't mean it's invincible, it just means it lasts longer than belts.
I just changed my timing chains in October before i parked my car... the mileage on the odometer read 262,000kms.
Get it checked by a mechanic you trust, not a nissan dealer <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

CHAINS DO NOT BREAK
They can stretch or skip though, but not break. They don't require service, unless something isn't working, and if it's not working, you'll hear it.
