View Full Version : cellular service and providers
i have a panasonic tx210 and i hate it...
my contract is up at summers end and i will be gettign a new phone and prolly a new provider as well.
i'm sure they are different throughout the continant but i would like to get input on a few that are around here.
Rogers AT&T is my provider and my service has been out for days at a time, and even when it's here i miss calls that never even ge tto my phone. "customer is not available" it says even though some people can still get threw, i missed 10+ calls from my girlfriend in the past few weeks, 3+ from my family, and thats only the ones that i know about, who knows howmany jobs have called me, or old friends that nver got threw.
and the battery last a max of 36 hours if i dont use the phone, and if i do i could run threw the whole thing in less than a day.
i've heard good about BELL, and Telus as providers
and samsung phones seem to be the shit
i wont really be using the net n the phone, just a phone, and no games either i hate those things
what do you guys have and do you like it,
monthly rates,plans etc.???
hehehehehehehehe
does anyone wanna buy my phone with leather case, car charger, headset and reg charger, manual and orig box...
it's mint, i just hate it...
panasonic tx210, navy blue
it's real small and nice looking, perhaps with a different provider, or in a different are it's be a good phone.

I dunno if it helps you, but I have Sprint PCS
I pay $35/mo for 350 daytime minutes and 2150 night and weekend minutes. I also have WireLess Web for $6.00 / mo.
I usually don't miss calls, and there are very few areas where my phone drops. Mainly when changing counties between Sarasota and Charlotte, but I think I am also switching satellites or something. Good reception. I like it.

i'm assuming by ur posts that ur in canada... i actually sell telus phones, and i've almost used them all (except SaskTel and Bell). Telus excellent for coverage and service, decent price plans. the Rogers plans some are attractive, but their customer service is horrible. plus it's lacking some coverage in certain areas. and Fido... if you're only using ur fone in the city and not much rural areas has really good reception and depth of coverage. but again, since they use GSM they still don't haf much coverage outside of the major city centers.
right now i'm using fido and telus.
my fido rate is 30 bucks a month for 100 daytime, even/weeknds free, caller id, txt msging, voicemail, call waiting, conference call. the fone i'm using is a Nokia 8890, love it, super classy looking, small/light, and very good sound quality.
and the telus plan i'm on is 1000 anytime minutes, mini voicemail, call waiting, conference call, and caller id (this plan is normaly 100 bucks/month). this fone i'm using is a Nokia 6188, it's decent, getting kinda outdated tho, but it gets the job done, and good reception. this line i am soon switching to the Sanyo5000 the one w/ the color display... battery life on this fone isn't as good as the Nokia though.

I have Sprint PCS with an old school SCH-3500. I rarely lose calls, but when I do I'm way out of range...I live on Cape Cod which is surrounded by water and has historical districts (no antennas). They have been making new antennas with trees around here which is pretty damn cool. My rate plan kicks patooty, cuz I work at Staples, so I can't comment on that ($15/month for 1500 anytime mins <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> ).

i'm using at&t...i think they're decent...good customer service imo...i pay 40 bucks a month and get some amount of daytime mins...don't really know...never call in the daytime and unlimited nights and weekends...not bad, although the reception could use some work...i have the nokia 3360...it's a nice phone...but i'm looking to get the 6360...i want a voice dialing feature again...had the sanyo 4500 from sprint...great reception but bad customer service...
if you're looking for a company..."can you hear me now?" "good"...hehe...
