ok I have run into a quandry here...
I am looking at souping up a s13 soon and it will be souped up JDM style. the question is do i go JDM stock? or JDM modified? this has been argued endlessly on Honda forums and now I am not sure.
should I go out and get the 180SX tail light set? apprx $450
or should I go the route of Japanese s13 drifters and run....
R32 Skyline tail lights. apprx $200 and some body work. what to do what to do? do you get stock japanese sidemarkers? or clear japanese sidemarkers? stock JDM front bumper? or modified JDM bumper ala Bomex, C-west....
what do you guys think? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>

i thought the Japanese S13 drifters ran whatever they find in the junkyard?? so if you really wanted to be "drift style" you'd have to hump curbs untill you broke the tail light.....
if you went JDM stock that would be cool. Right hand drive has it's appeals. you're closer to the curb so you can holla' at dem ho's easy.
if you went JDM modified it would probably be the same thing everyone else had.
You should start a trend and be JDM and speak badly mangreld engrish and hump curbs all day and overload your car with useless meaningless stickers that say things like "drift lasagna" or something.
oh yeah.. don't forget to mismatch parts. that's real JDM. they're all about things like tein front coilovers and cusco rear coilovers, nismo front STB, plank of wood rear STB, ripped nismo left side skirt, primered right side skirt, '96 accord front bumper badly molded on, r32 tail lights bought cheap from someone who actually knows how to mod a car (and obviously wanted to just get rid of them), etc etc etc.

Well if you ever stumble upon the company that used to make the One-Line kit and they are still in business (most people said they stopped making kits), then report it back here, cuz a lot of people want the kit but don't want to buy the actual r32 lights and fix em up

JDM Stock or JDM suped? (I'm pretty sure it's "suped" as opposed to "soup" like you said, but you may be correct as I stay as far away from that word as possible.) But anyway why are you asking us. You have seen both obviously and should decide for yourself. These are two different styles not just two different items or parts. People that have edgey agressive body kits and big chrome rims are as different as night and day when compared to JDM stylists. Just depends what kind of person you are and how you plan on presenting yourself. JDM stock is more expensive however, because you have lots of competition of people trying to become legit Silvias and Sil-Eighties.

Me personally, a JDM stock spec just means that its just another stock car. Don't waste the money trying to make the car look like what its not. Looking JDM is nice and all but 500 bucks for a set of lights is just too much to spend. If you're going to spend money like that you might as well get something that'll make your car run faster.

I say go with whatever looks the best to you
I really like the stock 180SX tails.....that's what i want.... up front i want the Hippo-sleek D-pad front bumper,,,,,,it looks phat.....and i want the East bear front light conversion.....whatever looks best to you man.....i would'nt go for a specific look to fit a trend, just look good and go fast, and that's all that matters.

ok, I'm gonna hold it in and take this seriously as to answer your question
Go JDM modified, and here's what I'd do. Swap in that SR20DET, nice FMIC, LSD, 16" SSR mesh or your favorite JDM wheel, Bomex front bumper, sides, or even the Wise Sports full kit,
but here is the important part for the JDM modified
get that front bumper banged up a little, scratched, maybe hanging on with zip ties, I don't care I'd roll like that!!!
its called battle scars, show em loud and proud!!! hell don't even run a front bumper, show that FMIC!! get sideways, just don't let me catch you doin it in my barrio <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sneaky.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':pissed:'>
honestly, do what you want, i know its hard, and you want opinions, but you can't make your car your own style by asking others. just make some good choices post some pics,
-will, who doesn't care, would drive his S13 banged up

What the hell ever happened to NZDM, EDM, CDM, ADM, or S.A.DM?? Why always JDM? I say you go European Domestic market and put Porsche side skirts on. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> Or if you're really stuck on the JDM thing, you could put a DVD player in your car and run a 24hr continuous loop of horrible anime. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
IMO, if you start doing all that extravegant body work, most people will catagorize your car with the preludes that have skyline bodykits.
"WOW, look mom, a mutant honda!!!!"
In all honesty, JDM equipment may fit our cars, but we don't have a JDM-- we have the SIlvia's retarded sibling.

do what you want with your money...you can photoshop everything onto a picture of your car and decide what you look...don't let all the people here discourage you from your idea...although if you post pictures and we laugh...then at least you'll know why...

hey dood, I don't know about u but like my car is going to be ADM, eyes going to be a trend setter. All cheap american aftermarket parts that is really you should do. You would stand out . I would say Pacesetter exhaust and headers with a 89 SOHC engine get one of those vortex setups. weld up your open diff for that american locker type diff. Hey you could even raise it up and take it off road make it pro rally <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> All the Japanese guys will want to emulate you.
You would be big merican driftboy. Hey thats an idea you really need a custom sticker for your windshield saying DRIFTBOY

in my opnion, the only thing worth the shit thats JDM is the damb motor. JDM is a fad, what your doing is making you car not look modified, but instead look stock except noone will reconize it they will just say what the hell wat that and disreguard you and your car. The people your trying to impress with your JDM parts, (the people who will reconize the parts) will say what the hell is he trying to do? his car is not japanise(sp?) and laugh. Go with what you think looks good, not the current trend. the way i feel, JDM parts are a very similar to altezza lights and loud exausts - they are for show
do what you want, it is your car.

I like the look of the 180 taillights and what not but I got the best part of a 180sx already and all my money right now goes to making the best part of said 180sx go a hell of a lot faster.
On next dyno looking for 240hp <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/satisfied.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':satisfied:'>

Just don't be a RICER!!!!!! If you want to be really hardcore find the 180SX rear corner glass....that is hardcore....anyone can get the 94+ 180SX taillight. MotoRex even stocks them new.
Get the glass, and turn signals...that's hardcore.
