You start with +10 Reputation points. Somone gave you -3 and left you that comment, probably because you posted in an old dead thread. This leaves you with +7.

To clarify,
Someone disapproved your post, and they carry a 3-pt stick, so it's -3.

It doesn't go in 3s. Depends on the person who give you rep.
My stick is something like a 42 pointer. XD

So the more reps you have, the more it'll matter? Or does post count effect how hard the blow is?

Say JoeNobody has 65 reps, but has 1.5k posts, would his pointcount be higher than JoeShmoe with 140 reps, and 1k posts?

How about a reps breakdown and point rating tally?

This has been discussed to death. But I'll do it one more time.

Every 100 rep points you have = +1 rep you can add/subtract
Every 1000 posts you have = +1 rep point
Every full year on zilvia = +1 rep point.

Me? You start with 1 point. I have 5000 posts. 6 rep points. Been on zilvia for 4 years. 10 rep points. Have 6xx rep points:
I change a user by 16 rep points.

You? Inital point. 1000 posts. 2 rep points. 200 (I think, not checking for you) rep points:
You should change a user by 4 points. 5 in December when you get your full year point.

^^^ Please understand, folks, that Jeff is describing what detriment or gain you can present to someone's reputation when you rep them on that post.

Dang, that's a pretty elaborate but cool system.

seriously, hey one questions, what to the silver rims stand for under your name?

every certain number of total posts you reach, you get a rim/tire and different label under your username...i forgot but it goes something like leaky injector, zilvia member, zilvia addict, zilvia freak!, etc...the primitive and less elaborate method of "reputation" on the board...

I'm bumping this thread because it seems the most pertinent. How many rep points do you need to get more green boxes? ie, 100 points and you get two green boxes 200 points..... etc. thx.

You start with one green box, every 100 rep you get, you get another box. I have 209 rep, and I have 3 boxes.

Which is a crying shame to say the least.

well ive never used the rep thing before so i clicked on the thing to see what happends and the only option was "I Approve"....... what if i dont approve? i thought you could add and also remove to their rep? or is there something to do because im a "temporary pinky?"

^Yes, everything is different when you're in the doghouse.

Is the rep power indicator enabled on the front page mini-profile?

ThatGuy

^Yes it is. It tells you your current level and shows you the amount of points you can give/take away from other members when you Rep them.

i have a question, in my user cp it shows 3 comments. one is a green box the other 2 are grey boxes. but the comments for the grey boxes are positive... i thought the grey boxes were not good. did the persons just make a mistake?

NemeGuero

Grey boxes means they don't have enough rep power to affect you negatively OR positively.
