S14 ABS Actuator

Hey,

Just wondering if anybody else out there in S14-land has had problems with their ABS?

I got the old ABS light, so I went in to have the code checked... The dealer said the code generated because the ABS actuator had failed.

The ABS actuator is a $4300CAD part (without labour) so this has bad news written all over it.

Just wondering if anybody's had similar problems?

$4k!!! just rip it out all together rather than spend that much money.  I've never had any problems with my ABS like that.

parts like that dont usually just quit working, imo,  something else might be wrong...

Thats kinda what I figured... but where should I start?

Checking wheel sensors?
Fuses?
Wiring?

I dont really know what could cause that code... The dealership seems fairly convinced that its the actuator, and they're the ones with the code checker...

Argh... I hate electronics.
