Hi fellow members.
I finaly got what I wanted and looked for for over
6 months.
My car is a 1995 EU spec S14 that came with the sr20det from the factory.
since not many cars were imported , I had no choice but to buy one with an AT.
The current mods are: Suspension is setup with tein coilovers all the rods were
upgraded with kazama and cusco and tein bits. strut bars and swaybars
going in next week.
FMIC, APEXI power intake with intake box walbro and nismo FPR just in case.
and a 3" zorst which I almost forgot about.
The car needs a lot of work externally so not showing external pics yet. sorry.
I did not want to get into refreshing a 220K mile engine (yes that is not a mistake) so I started to look for a new engine. I wanted to find a zero mile engine. I was told that that will not be possible to find but after many months I found one. That is right, a complete longblock with 0 miles. So naturaly I bought it.
took a couple of months to get here but since my Silvia is not my daily driver
no rush. I finally got it last week and what do you know, they called me up and asked me if I would be interested in a 0 mile manual tranny.
what do you think I said? hell ya :rawk:
So we installed the engine today. The tranny conversion isawaiting a couple of missing items. Engine is working PERFECT but a water leak from a waterline under the plenum has delayed us but no biggy.
Now here are the pics.

Thanks for taking the time to read and sorry for the long post.
I am just a very very happy S14 owner.

Here in the states I know there are some companies that remanufacture SR20DET engines. Did you order it from somewhere here in the states?
Anyway, its looking awesome. Cool project...include some pix of the build up...

Thanks.
I purchased it via the local nissan dealership that through a contact in germany
found the engine and tranny in japan. It was bought by the japanese dealership
for a client a few years back but was never claimed. The engine came in a Nissan box with the part number of a complete engine stamped on it so I know I got what I paid for. Part number for "ENGINE ASSY-BARE" is 10102-75F50.
Turns out that the guy at the local dealership knew about this engine for a couple of years and wanted to get it for his son once he bought an S14 but since that never happend so after a lot of moderate psychological pressure I got it.

Actually, the block and new tranny were not all that expensive.
Engine: 4000 us $
Tranny: 650 us $.
I think it was not a bad deal for what I got.

maybe as much as the car!! :eek2:
Considering there are only 15 of these machines on the streets of Israel,
The price of a clean car is around $8K. but considering we get them with lsd
and the sr etc.. its an ok price. So with the labor and odd parts , I guess it
will come close. but its well worth it. After the wrx's and mustangs it is
time for a real driving machine.
kandyflip445: the oil pump needs replacing as oli pressure is at 85 percent of
what it should be. water pump, emmmm should be replaced just incase. cranckshaft has more than recomended play. Not to say she didn't run good but it just wasn't good enough to keep as it is.
I may keep it and buid it up but for now I really have nothing to do with it.

Props to you on the find, if you attack the rest of the car with the same detail you do the motor, you should have a brand new 95 silvia in a year or 2.

Thanks but I hope it takes more like a month or two.
Billet Flywheel and new clutch on the way. Aluminium propshaft is on the way. new seats, once I decide which brand will be orderd next week. steering wheel off an S15 is on the way. CF trunk and FRP bonnet and 20mm frp fron overfenders will be arriving on sunday. 30mm rear FRP overfenders will be arriving sunday. Decided to stick with a new OE front bumper that I already have waiting to be mounted with the OE lip. Side skirts and rear bumper should be leaving japan in the next couple of days. The last thing that I need to decide on are rims and tires. replaced brake booster with a new one. we get the 4pot calipers stock here and I just had them rebuilt a week ago.
Oh, and the color hopefully will be midnight purple but at 500 british pounds per litre which is how much I was quoted and the fact that I need to find a R34 owner that will be willing to say its for him might just cause me to go a different type of purple since the car has a factory dark purple color.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh, thats a lot. A few more $k's and I am done.
You never realize how much it is until you put it all in one post
:duh:

Thanks,
Israeli scenery? :-)
Here is a pic of the car at the shop after the transplant, notice the front bumper and what a bad shape it is in? it is the same for the rear. Need a lot of work and fresh paint.
The guy in picture is the one that did all the work on the car and the one I drove nuts!

That's awesome, especially the fact that you were able to find a new block. I know in the states we have a few brand new KA's laying around, and those are $4k+ also.

Agreed but they are fun.
Again this is not my daily driver and rims and tires will be orderd
this week.
Same air strip after the event was over.
