Thoughts of MGS

So i know im not the only person addicted to Metal Gear. Its an awesome game for stealth wouldbe ninjas, and superb Storyline (remember, it IS a game). Anyone else follow up on it?
I was actually hoping 4 would have been the Terrible Infants chapter of the story. All ends of Snake Eater pretty much pointed to it, but it didn't happen. Guns of the Patriots looks promising, but i kinda dislike OldManSnake.

Dude. I remember laughing my ass off cause I'd run up right behind a guy in the box and sit down. They'd be like "?" what's this? Then when they came up to inspect I'd run away with the box on and run in a different room. :rofl: Good times.

I loved using the NINJA invisibility (cheat) with Snake in MGS2! Run up to them, punch em, and have them go HUH?

Or walkin around with the biggest gun you could ever tote, and having them get scared cuz its a 'ghost.'

i too follow the series. unfortunately MGS4 will be Kojima/Shinkawa's last game. But it might lead to other good things, Snatcher/Policenauts anyone?
I've been going back to MGS3 and getting all the camos/Kreotan frogs again :)
Substinence will be awesome with its different camera angle, MGS Online and the original Metal Gear/Solid Snake: Snakes Revenge!!

you mean MGS4 not 5 right?
Kojima hinted that MGS4 will be "No place to hide"
so far what i've gathered up is that:
-2 unknown countries are at war
-it's a warzone
-will rely on "senses", where mental fatigue and pyschology will play a role in this game somehow
-the 2 oppositions will not come into Snakes harm unless Snake attacks them
-There is not just 1 Metal Gear, but lots of them.

anyway, Kojima will deliver and exceed the high expectations as always

I'm thinkin 'No Place to Hide' wouldn't be so literal, more of a "no place to hide from your destiny' or something along those lines. It would be awesomely cool to show Olga/Ninja again. She was hot for a ninja.

while mgs is cool.. i dunno.. playin pc games kinda kills mgs a lil.. as far as the stupid ai *jump in another room and they totally forget about you* stuff.. ive played a lil mgs2, but not 3 yet... i just dont have that much time anymore to play =(

Actually when I went to the other room they'd follow me. But since there were like 20 boxes in the room I ran into they kinda just looked around and kicked other boxes then left. lol

I somehow doubt the MGS series will come to a total end.
If its a sucess and keeps bringing in the money, then they have no reason to bag it.

I think it may be the last one, for a while... they may bring it back to life with the PS5 or something.
But I do think the whole Snake storyline will have to end eventually, they can't drag it on too much longer.. the new generation of MGS type games will probably be very similar however.

the only MGS i've played is MGS2, which seems to be the weakest in the series. the story got funky at the end, but the overall game was pretty enjoyable. naked raiden doing somersaults was probably the most memorable part of the game. that, and otacon complaining about sleeping with his stepmom or something.

I love the mgs series man. Mgs3 could get annoying sometimes because of constant jungle navigating but that doesn't mean it wasn't a fun game.

agreed about MGS making an awesome movie, but in terms of gameply, I prefer Splinter Cell in terms of gameplay, but story and cinematics definitely belong to MGS series

to be honest.. MGS has always had the cinamatic features of it.. its more of a movie than a game.. you play it to watch a movie.. i think its a movie in itself.. although the game play is supurb..

also kojima is said to announce a new director for MGS4 but is not sure.. he will announce it if there will be a new one.. i doubt the MGS series will end.. too many people will want to complete the series.. its just a great game..

The new theme is "no where to hide" or somewhere along those lines.. thats just a them and from what i can see.. they set up the battlefield so that there basically is no place to hide.. its still a stealthing game but more tactical.. its said to now be using a third person shooter point of view instead of the overhead view its been using. so it will attract more splinter cell fans to the game.. and alot of people have been requesting it to be like that.

I was so outraged to hear that when kojima announced a new director, it would be alan smithee.. and as all of you know.. he is an american movie director and his nickname in the movie industry is "the lousiest directer.." but i later learned that kojima was just joking =]
