Hey Ive recently noticed Popping sounds when I turn my car. The sounds are too lound more like I feel a slight pop then hear anything. I was thinking it could be the CV axle. Any other ideas??? My car has abotu 150K and is a 5speed. any help would be appreciated. thanks

blown shock. Check by pushing the side of popping sound down and see if it goes up and down a lot. If yes then ur shock is blown. Or to be more certain you can take out the suspension and unbolt the top mouting plate and take out the spring. Then push on the shock if it doesn't come back up your got blown shocks.
Oh what do you notice when you go over speed bumps/ pot holes?
If you have a really old car say s13 mostly, your tie rod or tension rod bushing might be worn too. check for leaks at the bushing.

Front rear left right? I don't think 240s have CV joints, that is something I associate with FWD cars. Could be your tie rod ends.

240's do have CV axles. They're just in the back..yknow, so the 240 can have independent rear suspension. But anyways, i agree with ghostuss, check out the bushins and joints in your front suspension.

So the gismo under the rubber boot on the axle is a CV joint then? That makes sense, that it would be there to allow the axle to flex.

sorry to revive an old thread, but I have the same sound now, only after I installed my coilover. Could it be the spring of the coilover?
