My guage cluster plexi glass face has some spots on it and i have tried alot of stuff to try and get them off. They look something like water spots but i wipe them down and they disappear but once they dry they come back. Anyone have any household or good ideas? I tried goo gone and no luck. Thanks

It may be etching from some unknown substance.
Your best bet is Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish. They're two small bottles, have the consistency of wax/polish...very nice stuff. I had a very visible surface scratch on the cluster when I first got the car. Since I've used the products, I've never seen it again, in any kind of lighting.

at the vacuum stores around st louis they have a professional glass cleaner that i use on my windows, its called touch of glass (i used it when i cleaned up my gauge cluster, was really dirty)
it works great, its cool b/c it foams too...give it a try if you can find it, and if it doesnt work, then you have a kickass glass/window cleaner :)

A new lens is less than $20. In the time it takes to try a lot of crazy chemicals to clean it you can just replace it.

With Meguiar's plastic products (White and grey/green bottle), you can use it on your signal lenses, clear lenses, faded orange (chalky) tail lights, and anything else plastic that should be glossy. It's a great investment, and I highly recommend it.

$20 where? I spent about 30 mins just getting the face off the cluster with the whole removal and i know the guy at the junkyard knew i runied a perfectly good tach to get the face but its all i needed. And i will look for this Meguairs. Thanks

Well, new would mean from the dealer, unless your salvage yards sell new parts.
And if it took you 30 minutes to pull a cluster, you must have no arms, legs, and are blind.

Lets see, clear the space to get into the nasty car to have room to pull it, lower the steering wheel....looking for my 12mm deep socket. ok found it. 3 top screws then pull cluster out, then 2, then dash. OK EAT IT. Maybe 10 mins! :naughtyd:
Ok so im not sure where to look for this stuff but I will look today at pepboys.

The plastic cleaner and polish work VERY GOOD. Though if you could get a new one for 20 then that would be the way to go.
