Hey guys, I just sold my Hybrid Hatchback Honda for a S13 fastback this week and I am looking to do the Silvia front end conversion since it will be a bit cheaper than doing the SR20DET right off the bat. I am going to make a homemade Sil-Eighty of sorts. I can't seem to locate a company that makes a CF hood for the JDM S13's, any suggestions?
I have been a Honda guy for 5 years now, and have to learn all the Nissan stuff now, so cut a newb a break <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Thanks a bunch.

I guess I have come full circle then, from the SOHC side to the DOHC side and now to THE dark Side. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
I can't WAIT to start working on the Nissan, I have soooo many plans for it.

Project D (http://www.autoimaging.com) imports Rudora 180SX carbon fiber hoods from Japan. Rudora C/F hoods can handle up to 170mph without hood pins. Have not yet seen one for the S13 though, but I'm sure they can get it

I've never seen a CF hood for the s13.
Ouch! 89-94 Nissan 240SX $394.95 ... that's for the "OEM" style hood too -- and only w/ popup lights, no word on the Japanese S13 silvia hoods -- they should be (or maybe not?) cheaper since they don't have cutouts for the headlights... err if that's any reason for them to be cheaper.
The Silvia hoods are pretty simple... just a big square. The 180SX (popup lights) are a little different with the cutouts.
Re: your silvia frontend conversion -- did you pick up the fastback (turning it into a sil80) or did you get the coupe (turning it into a silvia)? I'm soooo undecided about whether or not to do the sil80 front or not... it's killing me.

Well, if you're that undescided, I should think that the price tag would be enough to keep you from doing it.

I got a fastback and going with a Sil-Eighty conversion with possibly a Bomex Front bumper cover. If I can't find a Carbon Fiber hood, then I am just going to leave the stock front end on and do a full 180 build up with a CF hood and Bomex front lip or bumper cover.
