96 Integra Vs. 92 240SX

stock everythinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg in both cars! I just bought my 240 like 5 days ago and this dude from work wants to race me! i dont wanna lose.. anybody has any guesses on what the turn out is going to be? no matter what you say i'll give you an asnwer next monday! hauahuahuaha but let me know what you think so i know what to expect!!!!! check

If the 'teg is a gsr or a type r you will probally lose if it is a gs you have a pretty good chance but the gsr runs about 160-165hp and you my friend see only about 155hp.  I think we all know not to race a type r without an SR

If its a GSR, you lose

If the int. is a non vtech....you will more than likely take him, unless you totally bog the launch.  My friend has a nice 95 int. with some bolt ons, and I took him with my completely stock 97 240sx se...it's all in the launch though.

if the Teggy is a GSR or , God help you, a Type R your gonna get roasted.....
in a 96 LS he can still give it to ya, but you will have a chance man, it will definately come down to the driver here though...

you have like 154Hp stock right now... but if i remember correctly your 1/4mile time is still only like in the high 16s... low 17s... someone correct me if i'm wrong..... Basically if you are sure of yourself as a driver, race him, i know i would.... but jus dont sleep (underestimate) his ride.. and if you find out his ride is a Gsr or type r you should probably make some mods on your ride before you race him... good luck

it all depends on the driver, but since u got an auto, i think ur screwed. ive seen a gsr with I/H/E run a 15.5 consistently at the track, while my friend (Integraholic) ran a 14.5 with a CAI no muffler and no interior, pretty nuts, when it comes between integras and 240s, the major difference is how u drve it

my 96 240 (auto) got destroyed by a 92 integ 4 door ls(stick). &nbsp;it was embarassing. i hate auto, its terribly slow

Take it from a Honda guy..... &nbsp;here is the break down.

If it is an LS/GS/RS........ &nbsp;pretty good race there, right around 16 flat to high 15's

If it is a GSR..... &nbsp; just admire the tail-lights, once it hits 3rd gear, you are toast.

If it is a Type R..... &nbsp;again you are done.

Really easy way to tell between them....

GS/RS/LS usually do not have color matched side moldings. &nbsp;Come in either 2 door or 4 door. &nbsp;

GSR has color matched side moldings, also has the nifty DOHC VTEC emblem under the passengers side tail light.

Type R, no side moldings at all, 5 lug suspension, only come in Championship White (97-98) or Pheonix Yellow, Nighthawk Black (00-01)


If you manage to get a peak inside....

GS/LS/RS/ &nbsp;5 speed or auto, 7000 redline.

GSR &nbsp;5 speed only, 8000 redline

Type R, Black interior with redstiching, 8400 redline.

All in all, if it has VTEC, you are going to be killed with your auto tranny. &nbsp;I raced my buddy one time with his 95 S14 against my SOHC VTEC del Sol (125 hp) and I walked him. &nbsp;He ran like 16.2's in it and I ran 15.7's in the Sol.

Time for a third honda guy. &nbsp;Pretty much, Honda VTEC engines are good because of their high redline. &nbsp;And they pull all the way to it. &nbsp;When I'm racing people, they go to shift much earlier than I do, so when they're down in say 3rd gear, I'm still in second gear pullin like a biatch. &nbsp;But, you still might have a chance. &nbsp;If he's a ricer, and you launch right, you'll beat him. &nbsp;Heres how to tell if he's a ricer. &nbsp;Number one, he doesnt know shit about the engine. &nbsp;Number two, theres a visor hanging from his mirror. &nbsp;Number three, he says nos instead of Nitrous or N.O.S. &nbsp;I admire 240's for their launches. &nbsp;Jason (Evil S14) still has me in one area. &nbsp;I've never achieved a 2.1 60 foot time. &nbsp;Keep the engine torqued up by holding your left foot on the brake and giving it gas with the right foot. &nbsp;You may have a chance. &nbsp;Most ricers cant shift worth a crap. &nbsp;Good luck. &nbsp;May the Force be with you. &nbsp;heheheh. &nbsp;

Heres a tidbit of info &nbsp;GS-R redline is 8100 rpm, rev limiter kicks in at about 8200 to 8300 rpm. &nbsp;Heres the MPH of all of my gears at 8100 rpm

2nd : 62
3rd : 92
4th : 120
5th : 143

Do you live in Washington? I have a friend with a 92 LS Stick (well it was just stolen) but he raced a an S14 style 240 and left it in the dust (I was in the car) ... Not that it changed my at all about 240's but it was kinda funny.... But alot of honda drivers are not that bad. It's funny all his car had was intake for awhile and he beat a civic with a ZC intake, exhaust, and headers.... Like they said before it really depends on driver skill alot.

Stock for stock 240sx will win against an RS, but not GSR. 240sx has 155hp and 160ft/kbs of torque, but it is heavier. The 240sx is more or less in the same class as the Prelude.
