Los Angeles To San Francisco Rally

Hey guys, I was thinking of organizing a rally from LA to SF. The details are not fully developed yet but who would go? Was thinking of maybe taking off on a Saturday morning and coming back on Sunday. Just spend the nite maybe we can all eat at china town in SF and sleep then DRIVE back. Love the driving part :)

NOTE: If you are one of those "Ill Go!!" people and then the day of the event say "oh man i cant go have to work" dont say you're going! lol That way we know how many ppl are willing to go. We can either go 101 for the scenic route or take the 5 for the quicker route. Let me know, oh btw this would be in like 2 months.

I can get to San Francisco from LA on one tank. If the drive was done up and back your talking two maybe two and half tanks. This is not going slow by the way either my average speed on those runs is around 85 mph. I would also say definitely go the 101. The 5 is good for one thing getting up or down fast. Anyways I am rolling the 5 up on thurs to the bay. As far as getting Chinese food in San Francisco goes Chinatown is ok but the really killer places are now in the inner richmond district of San Francisco its like the new Chinatown( Hong Kong Flower lounge!! on Geary). Kinda like what happened with L.A.'s Chinatown , where all the really good places wound up in Monterey Park.

I really don't care when we come back. I know some people want to leave Sunday, and others on Monday. They can just go and come back I guess, they can have their own caravan home. There will probably be a Sunday caravan and a Monday caravan.

When we pass by before Santa Barbara, right past Ventura, there's a nice stretch of scenic highway where someone can pass us all and stop at the shoulder and take pics of us passing by. We can also stop on the side and take pics.

There are tires marks and pieces of rubber all over the place where all this happeend. Most of the cars that crashed were Nissan 240sx', but some Acura Integras that read SILVIA on the front. Leaving October 8. There will be two meeting points. One in LA somewhere, and the other one in Oxnard at 10am. I will be responsible for the Oxnard meeting point. There is a Best Buy right off the 101north off Rose Avenue. That's the best spot right off the freeway to meet at.

The LA meeting spot is 8:30, as said by Jesse (nismo-s14), but yet to be determined.

I say instead of or in addition to meeting in oxnard at best buy, we have a meeting place either directly north of goleta or south of carpinteria on the 101 right along the beach. Or even downtown SB along the beach. This way it will give the SB guys a chance to meet up without having to back track a half hour and it will also give us a great photo op along the water.

Thats what I was thinking because its gona suck for you guys to keep having to stop and regroup and shit espeacially if its not even a cool place to stop/take pictures.

I say just have one meeting place in the LA area, then you guys roll out and stop again either downtown SB by the water, or just north/south of SB on the 101 along the ocean. This way all the oxnard/ventura/sb/goleta guys can meet up without having to backtrack or risk missing the pack by trying to catch up on the freeway.

OK, I just did a search lol and found that holiday in where I normaly stay at is 230 bucks a day on that weekend. So I searched for cheaper hotels so that everyone can afford to go and I found this one

Best Inn - Fisherman's Wharf It's 90 bucks a nite for me 2 adults and 1 child with 2 beds non smoking. So im guessing for you singles it will be cheaper. Would be nice if someone from the area checks out the hotel and tells me if it is in a nice area of the wharf.

2575 W. Beverly Blvd at 8:AM. From there we will be going 101 N to the 170 N to the 5 N since this is the fastest way to get there. I know I haven't been posting updates it's just hard to set everything in order for my work.

dude, that is the worst route. Even though its slightly faster, it still sucks. Its super hot, traffic sucks, and the roads suck. Its just a boring straight line through the middle of no where. The 101 is much nicer right along the water in parts, hardly anyone on it, and it goes straight to SF. The 5 you have to drive through Oakland and some of the worst freeways ever. Anyways, i guess ill just head up on Friday night since you guys arent coming my direction anymore.

Nothing is wrong with Oakland except that it sucks.

If you take 5, you can just take 152 West which connects to 101 north straight to SF.

Well, last minute even my friend cancelled lol

So I went to Ensenada instead haha

Funny thing happened down there though. I was in a town called Puerto Nuevo which is famous for it's lobster. I parked along side a restaurant. Next thing I know like 10 people from a car club called "Team Evil" surrounded my car and were staring at it lol. I was a tad worried but in the end they just walked away. They all had Integras and 1 civic.
