y..o...u...r &nbsp; b...e...s...t &nbsp;b...e...t &nbsp;(is that slow enough, j/k). &nbsp;Your best bet is to go to a hobby shop that sells them. Ask the guy about the R/C car. He should know a lot about them. You should know that they aren't really great for toys, because these thing are like really fast. They don't way much and are very fast (40-60+ mph for top speeds). once you press the gas (lever watever you wanna call it) these things just jet like a motorcycle. If you ever plan to use them you HAVE to find a smooth road (it would be good if you found a real race course). If you hit a small bump it will send you car flying out of control. My brother bought his and he never knew how unbelievabley fast they were till he hit a curb and broke the front right part of the car. He bent the chasis and broke his front right suspension spring.

The only thing you ave to worry about with the body is painting it, stickers if you want, and cutting holes for cooling the car down and to prop the body on. These things heat up quick. These things also have little exhaust that looks pretty cool.

Find HPI's official site for lots of info on what kind of bodies you can get.

About the people on ebay saying they don't come with electronics, I am not to sure what they mean, but It might mean they just don't have the remote control. If you go to a hobby shop they can get you all you need.

okay, a subject i can honestly say i Know a lot about.
K if your going to get into R/C cars, and want a good one, ( Pro type car ) i would Recommend anything by assocciated or HPI, Assoc. makes the R/C-10 B3/T3/TC3 ( Buggy v3/ Truckv3/ and TouringCar v3) &nbsp;the touring car won the Radio Controled Car action TC car of the year Beating out the HPI and Losi Cars hands down, you can get the T3 in Gas, im not sure on the TC3, it think its Electric only, but you can get the HPI's in Gas or Electric, but i would Recommend an Electric as your first Ride, Not as Fast, Hella Tunable and much Cheaper,i dunno about HPI but you can Buy the Assoc. cars in one of 3 different Flavors each, the Sport model the Team Model and the Factory Team Model, Sport has Bushings and a Mechanical Speed control, Team has Bearings and No Speed control ( buy it Seperatly ) and factory Team comes as a Full on Race model with Carbon Fiber and Titanium Eveything, for a Full setup including Radio, ESC ( electronic Speed control ) Servo batteries and a charger ( you want a 15 min Quick Charger ) your looking at about 500-600 dollars, i would Check www.TowerHobbies.com, they usually have the Best Prices around and they do Email Support on anything you buy from them, they also have RTR &nbsp;( Ready to Run ) Setups available for most cars,
the Setup i would recommend &nbsp;( and yeah you can tell im associated all the way)
Assoc. R/C10 TC3 Factory Team Edition.
LRP V.7TC Speed Control ( Best on Market )
Futaba Pro Pistol Grip Radio.
Trinity 1700mah Batteries ( at least 2 packs, they Heat up Quick )
Trinity 14 turn Double modified Speed Gem Motor ( quick but not to quick )
25 Tooth, 48 Pitch Pinion Gear
and a 15 Min Quick charger.
and any Silvia Body you can Find.
that should Be Everything you need to get started in an ELECTRIC CAR.

if you go Gas. be Prepared to Spend a hell OF A LOT MORE, because most dont come with the Engine, and thats like at least 100 bucks more, plus the car is about 100 more also.

that right there is my 2.23X1010000th power cents worth of advice on RC car racing, i used to compete in 1/10 scale Offroad Buggy and 1/10 Touring car Modified Series i had a RC/10 B3 Factory Team edition ( Exact Setup as i listed except for the Silvia Body) and a TC3 Factory Team ( 300ZX body ) with the Same Electronics, i am actually thinking about getting back into it, but seeings how i no longer have either of my cars, or any of my stuff for them ( gave them to my EX girlFriends Lil Brother ) i would have to start out all over again.

If you guys seriously wanna chat bout RC stuff, I was sponsored by Tekin, California Motor Works, HPI (pre-onroad days), Team Smooth, and almost Losi (long sad depressing story... dont ask). &nbsp;Granted it was in high school, but most rules still apply <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> &nbsp;I like to reminisce... hmmm... I apparently can't spell. heh

It's been a couple of years since I last raced, all of my racing has been off road racing with Losi trucks.

Depends on the State you live in, like here in Utah the only Major Race they Ever had was the April Fools Classic, at IR/c raceway in magna, not much money involved, but if your in like say SoCal, there are HELLA tracks and Lots of people into it, theres money in it there,

and RC racing is Like car racing, you dont just go out and Buy this Fastest machine you can get, ( like some Punk 16yr old going out and buying a McLarren F1) buy a Basic or Sport kit, Learn the car, Learn the Handling of the car, then get the Go fasts, if you cant make it around the Track because of inexpereance, it will be very frustrating, Going slow and Going the track without Wrecking is Fast, Mobbing ass Down a Straight and having a corner marshal Flip you back over at the hairpin is slow, even if you pass everyone else in the process, i recomend a Base to Mid Level car, its all good to go way to fast, till you over run your radio range and your car Slams into a pole and totally Destoys the Front end and Snaps 2 Titanium Turnbuckles, thats when you pull the 11 turn mod out and go back to the 36deg. Stock your car came with. hehehe, after of course you spend 100bucks on new shocks/Shocktowers,A-arms,Titanium Hingepins and Turnbuckles and a new set of front wheel bearings

Ohh yeah, These are cars I ( and i dont know it all ) would recommend &nbsp;for a First timer, they are ALL Available in RTR ( ready to Run) Kits From TowerHobbies.com

OFFROAD 1/10 Buggy
ASSOC. RC/10 B3 Sport
LosiXX ( or Whatever its called Now, im an associated Driver by choice, but to each his own)

OFFROAD TRUCK1/10
ASSOC. RC/10 T3 Sport
Losi XXT base model.

ONROAD 1/10
ASSOC. RC/10 TC3 Sport.
HPI RS4 Sport ( Can be bought with S15 Silvia Body, What a Perk)

or Get everything Seperate, see Previous post
to get competitive, you would prolly be looking at spending around 1k-1.5k just in Cars/parts/Batt/Chargers/Radio/Motor.. etc etc

if your just getting in to it, i would Recommend the Associated Cars, the instruction manuals are the Best in the Biz, and the cars are Very High Quality, Losi cars are Good also, but i was never really impressed with them, and HPI makes pretty much the Best all around on road cars around ( even though i still Bought a TC3 when it came out.)

Cars ive owned:

Assoc. RC/10 Aluminum ( Hella Old car, Made in the Late 80's) 1st car.
Assoc. RC/10 Graphite ( Still hella old, but the thing was a screamer )
Assoc. RC/10 B3 Sport ( Strapped for cash but needed a car while i was in Florida, fun car even Bone stock )
Assoc. RC/10 B3 Factory Team Ed. ( Every imaginable upgrade Titanium/Carbon Fiber Comp. part included in kit)
Assoc. RC/10 TC3 Factory Team
Losi XXT ( 1/10 race truck) I wasnt impressed with this, it was a good truck, but i didnt handle even as well as a older RC/10T ( Ye Olde Truck, Basically a RC/10 Aluminum, with Different Wheels and body ) and the parts broke to easy on it, but like i said to each there own.

i was Sponsored by Novak and Orion Batteries, I Tried so Hard for a Associated/Reedy sponsorship, but seeings how there was only one major race a year in Utah, it was hard to get there attention.

i used to be Hella Big into RC cars, then one day the clouds opened up and i decided that instead of having the Radio controlled Sled of my dreams, i wanted a Real car, so i kinda got out of it, yeah,
