Just curious.. for an SR20 why is the turbo outlet seperate from the downpipes rather than one full unit?

I know in stock form they are seperate but I'd figure aftermarket companies would create it in one piece (turbo outlet + downpipe).

easier maintenance i gess? if they hafta reach a part of the turbo it wud be easier to jus disconnect the outlet from the downpipe and turbo rather than having to fumble with a huge ass one piece outlet+downpipe.

just my .02.

On a RHD car, you can pull out the manifold with turbo and outlet hooked up without having to take off all 6 or so bolts on the back of the turbo.

On a LHD car, you actually have to take off the outlet when pulling the manifold because it interferes with the steering column.
