Hi! Moscow calling!
I have a Euro 200SX S14 with OEM sr20det that has some upgrades:
GT2871r .86
850cc
Z32 MAFS + Apex'i cone
Power FC
HKS FMIC
3" full with elbow and manifold (all Megan racing)
AVC-R
I am now waiting for a parcel with intake manifold, 1,2mm HG, cam springs and RAS (all Greddy).
I want to change cams and have some questions.
1. S14 engines have VTC. Mine makes some annoying sounds when cold and I think I should get rid of it.
2. I want cams in 260-272 range. The car should remain streetable, but I do not mind some idle or other problems.
3. I have been told that I can use S13 camshafts and sprockets to disable VTC. Will the engine function otherwise normally - has anyone here made that change?
