I just got word of the making of the dreaded "The Fast and the Furious 2." And they have now slaughterd my dreams, my car, my dream car, my baby, the Skyline, is going to be the head car like the supra was in the movie before.  Now i will be aproched by retards and small children with their remarks of how "I like skylines".  And i bet they wont even be able to tell u the make of the skyline.  I think this is the end of everything, I cry for the car, and i cry in pain for the skyline, now it will be mocked, cheaply loved, and soon severly overused, did god die?

After the first one the Supra wasn't mocked and cheaply loved, and there's no way someone cheap can afford the skyline anyway. People loved that car anyway after gran turismo...actually, I'm expecting to have some fun with people when they come up to me asking if my car is an R33...

The Skyline is already here.

The Infinity G35 is on the Skyline chassis, and a coupe version was shown at ther New York auto show a couple of weeks ago.

I've heard it rumored that the GTR version will be powered by a turbocharged QR25 motor. Whether this happens and if it makes it to these shores remains to be seen.

just do like Jay and Silent Bob and go down to the studio and stop it from being made. Because it matters SO much to you that little ricer wannabe's, and kids that wanna be cool will be talking about your beloved dream car. The first one was stupid, and had TONS of errors and flaws. But by continuously bringing it up and talking about how it was a peice of crap is doing EXACTLY what they want. Giving them Publicity, and gaurenteeing money in their pockets. Besides you don't go to a movie to gain insight into Turbo engines, and how to set them up, or what engines swap into what. You go for the entertainment value. So that you have something to do on a saturday night. I will see F&F2 b/c I thought the first one was funny and entertaining. Not because I'll become more intelligent about cars.

edit - A "Slow and the Timid" Spoof would be some EXTREMELY funny shiet! &nbsp;I would put that in my DVD collection in a heartbeat.

That is correct, but suddenly you see all of these nice rarer cars that they show in this movie and since they dont know jack shit they FUCK THEM UP! Its a disgrace to everyone who knows and loves cars. I mean, I liked imports and stuff (Supra MMMMMM) before the fast and the furious was thought of. Now, all of these rice kids at my school are like, hey cool, what are you going to do with your car? Put some NOS in it, drop it? Get some cool Altezza tailighsts? And Im nearly dying by all of these kids that arent buying civics and integras but are actually getting Honda 2000 and 240 and cars of the like.

Heres the plan, we capture a taliban suicide bomber and tell him that bush is in the studio where they have the actors and directors and shit and tell him to blow it up.

GOOD GOD that thing is sexy. &nbsp;Personally I would rather have that car over the 350z anyday of the week. &nbsp;IMO that is the most beautiful production Nissan car I've ever seen.

It's good to actually see it in photos that aren't professional. &nbsp;Professional pictures always make it look nicer than it is.

I'm actually amazingly ok with the Skyline being hte head car...I find it humorous that there was an r33 in the 1st movie, and no one really noticed it... then I thought, "hey, they actually DID try to somewhat be realistic... almost the whole team Toretto had were nissans..." this thought made me mildly happy. &nbsp;

People will never be able to afford Skylines... not the ricers at least. The GT-R and s15 Spec-V are going out of production anyhow... (insert moment of silence here). Which will only raise the value of the existing cars.

Maybe they also got enough feedback from the true racing communities that they'll ease off on the rice factor... realistically, probably not and well see more r34 heads and tails grafted onto civics and cavaliers, but the movie IS reality, let us pray for the future of the true enthusiasts. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>

Someone told me that they are going to be using Craig Liebermans Blackbird GTR (the one with the big wing). Its already got tons of decals on it. Its on Speed Options I think.

Well said Coldsun, you have a very valid point. The bickering over rice has gotten way too far and at times, it's gotten to a point where some enthusiasts aren't enjoying what they're doing with their own cars as much as they should and are too busy worried about others. Yes, I did almost tear my hair out watching The Fast & The Furious and the acting wasn't top notch at all. &nbsp;I have to admit, that movie was kind of a joke, but you know what? &nbsp;If I don't like it, it's just my opinion though. &nbsp;I don't really try to rub it in the faces of people who did like that movie. I'll just make fun of it in my own time.

A year ago or so, I used to bitch and whine about how my friend was putting neon lights, stickers, Aerogear hood, and lots of dumb crap on his Prelude and not listening to my advice to upgrade certain aspects of the car that "I" felt needed improvement like a set of springs to go with his AGX shocks, a more efficient exhaust to go with his JDM Type S cams, a fuel regulator or fuel tuning system (Apex'i S-AFC), etc. After a while, I just gave up. The guy was happy with his car and he's not surprised if he asks me for an opinion and I give him negative feedback. &nbsp;It's just my opinion anyway, so what does it matter to him?

Anyway, it's fun to joke around about how much F&F2 is going to suck, but man, some people just act as if it's armageddon or something and take it too seriously. &nbsp;Chill out, it's just a movie. Imagine all the grafitti artists and breakdancers felt when Beat Street came out two decades ago. Also, what about the martial artists' view on movies like Bloodsport, Bruce Lee movies, Karate Kid, etc? Ah well.

The Fast and the Furious sucked, in every possible way. &nbsp;The cars weren't great, the story sucked, the characters sucked, the plot was irrelevant, etc etc etc. &nbsp;Among car movies, it's not worth paying to see. &nbsp;

As for the boxing movie... how much does it actually apply to a "culture" as a whole??? &nbsp;How much will it affect it, no matter how unrealistic it may be?? &nbsp;How many people became boxers after Rocky?? &nbsp;F&F is different in that it's exploiting an "underground lifestyle" as one large ad for NOS. &nbsp;

hell, even Initial D takes some responsibility, showing Iketani crashing his S14 pushing it too hard, and constantly repeating how dangerous it can be pushing hard on a mountain (along the lines of "if you make one little mistake you'll end up at the bottom of the ravine").


Plain and simple, the media shapes the lives of say 90% of Americans. &nbsp;Therefore, we have a right to fight something that is going to threaten what we enjoy. &nbsp;Thanks to F&F, instances such as cops pulling over people for "muffler too loud" will be increased, just because they're going to profile modified imports.

Im sorry, but Ace is right. Even though its just a movie, it really did change a lot. When I got my 1 and only ticket, the cop had asked me if my turnsignals were white because of F&F. I was like umm wtf, no they've been this way since i bought the car...anyways. People are entitled to their oppinion, and if its negative so be it. Dont let that bother you so much that you have to go psycho. I'll probably see F&F too, its not a crime, and it is just entertainment. I dont remember who said it in this post, but Im not going to go see a movie to learn how to install a turbo.
