92 Integra GSR vs. 92 240sx SE Cpe.

OK...well, i've owned a 92 240sx Coupe since November and I've been loving my car. Can't beat the RWD. Well, I'm always getting into arguments with my friend about my car. He used to own a 92 Acura Integra GSR and I admit his car was pretty nice, but the tranny broke due to him driving it so hard all the time. ANyways, we always get into arguments becaues he's always saying that my car is weaker than his. I tell him that although my car is definetely not SLOW it isn't all too fast. I always tell him that the point of my car is not to go fast in a straight line but to go fast around the turns. His come back is that I dont drive my card hard enough for it to matter anyways. (Cause i'm just an street driver. no auto-x or drifting). He always asks me "What makes your car so cool?" I explain all those things but he swears that nothing i say is real. What do you guys think? What makes our car so cool? Especially against an Integra GSR ? Sorry if i'm rambling on and on. Just venting some anger from my Honda/Acura pride friend.

I have the end-all of conversations with this kid:
Next time it gets brought up, deck him in the eye.  Then say that the driver of the 240sx can do that!
Or, bring up some civilized points.
Our cars have .6 more liters than his.  Thats an entire 1/3rd LARGER!
Our cars have torque, which all Hondas are missing.
Our trannys dont break for no apparent reason.  (like his)
Rear wheel drive, so our power actually makes it to the ground.  Then mention TopFuel dragsters are RWD for a reason!  And disregard his Lisa Kubo crap, and bring up JUN's Silvia.
Our cars respond better to upgrades, due to the displacement difference.  Our engines make more of the add-on.  Especially turbos.
We can do wicked engine swaps, and he can't.  (ohh ahh, h22.  Suckit!  nearly 200lbs heavier.  Bring that nice 68% front weight to a hefty 75%ish.)
Think of some yourself.  Defend your 240!

ok...well, about the displacement...our car's engine is a lot bigger yet his car is faster. That is actually one of HIS arguments. Also, our cars have the torque but his car is faster than ours....so thats not much of an argument also. My biggest arguments is just handles. I love the s13 chassis. Going around turns in a RWD car feels much better. Also, the styling of the 240sx is just beauty. (but of course he doesn't agree.) Yeah. He has VTEC and a motor that you gotta rev the tits off to make power. His motor will threoretically die sooner than ours. Crap, at 80mph, they sit at like 4k. Thats aweful. Honda's have such a large final drive, like 4.38 or something. It is just impossible to compare the two cars as far as performance. Do some mods, and get the same total horsepower as his. But since his is so high in the powerband, you will hit yours faster and stay there longer. This comparison is like trying to compair a GSX1300R to a 3rd Gen RX-7. They are both 1.3L engines. But the bike is faster. And there are so many reasons why, aside from weight. Yet the RX-7 has more total horsepower and is turbo'd. Yet it loses.

ok...the next time this guy gets all huffy puffy, just tell him that juat like every other honda that has been made...he is going to spend a LOT more money than you will to reach his cars maximum potential. i mean he mod's his car with bolt on crap like intake, exhaust, headers, etc. he gains 15 hp to the wheels. BLAH BLAH! you do the same and you have 20-25 hp gain. ex:my friend has a turbo civic that is wickedly fast. there are only a couple of things that he hasn't done. basically his car is to the max potential. (262 fwhp 240ft/lbs) he also spent $18,000 to get his car that way. for $18,000 you could have a 240 pushin closer to 500 rwhp. Yeah the greatest thing I can say to him is that he modded his car way too much. First off, he bought his car for about 10 G's. Then he spent another 10 G's on mods to make his car faster. The car was pretty fast but for that money the car is shit. I bought my 240sx for 4 G's. With 16,000 worth of mods, I'd smoke his ass left and right. That is what shuts him up pretty fast cause he did all those mods to his car and got deep into debt on his credit card. Good thing his mommy came and bailed him out ! HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH. OH yeah, and his car IS a 1992 GSR. I mean I've seen it, rode in it, so trust me there is a 1992 GSR. the rwd makes our cars so special, theres nothing different about an integra. &nbsp;everyone has one. &nbsp;both cars in question are like economy cars, but a 240 is much closer to a sports car than any honda excluding s2000 and nsx.. &nbsp;i bet you could beat most vtec hondas. &nbsp;i have beaten alot of them, they arent THAT fast. plus you can tell that guy RWD for low money, and loads of JDM parts and your not ike everyone else on your street. &nbsp;our cars are far from perfect but you can tune it as you please! &nbsp;civics? &nbsp;mere eceonomy cars meant for regular people. &nbsp;that honda guy couldnt handle anything wth torque, he would be scared!

My older brother has a modified 93 GS-R and its pretty nice and also fast. I have nothing aginst it, but 240's in my opinion are better because of the rwd and other things. Actually he want to sell the GS-R and get a 240 as well. He finally saw the NISMO light.

There is one reason why I bought my car initially; its not a Honda. &nbsp;Its not that I don't like them, but they are just too many of them. &nbsp;Also, because there are so many of them, the aftermarket companies realized something...they can hike prices up because these kids will buy anything...

All you have to do is get the SR!!! &nbsp;I haven't found a vTEC that can hang as of yet...but my search continues. &nbsp;Also most of the Hondas in my area are poseurs. &nbsp;All show no go! &nbsp;They put the crappy body kit on and two aftermarket rims on the rears with stocks up front (what is the deal with that) &nbsp;Any loud pipe they can get their hands on they will stick on their cars. &nbsp;The integra can be fast but still isn't that impressive I can appreciate all cars (except Pintos) but the local ricers in my area really, really piss me off!

Well, theres a Blue Honda Civic Hatchback in Indy running mid 11's and another one running 10's I believe. &nbsp;I personally ran a 14.7 with one bolt on. &nbsp;I like going fast, and making power, so I got my 99 GS-R. &nbsp;If I wanted to go drifting and have fun that way, I'd buy a Nissan 240SX, 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7 TT, Toyota Supra TT, and so on. &nbsp;The 240 would be my best money bang for your buck type of thing. &nbsp;I'm being different with my Honda, I'm running better times than anyone with the same amount of bolt ons to their GS-R's and I'm even beating GS-R's with more bolt ons than I've got. &nbsp;Please dont see me as a hater or anything because I'm a Honda owner on a Nissan board, I just like talking about cars and racing. &nbsp;I wish Evil S14 would let me drift his car. &nbsp;The bastard says no every time I ask. &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

I think he was implying that If he wanted to drift those car would be much better choices than the teg' but for his purpose and budget, the Teg was right for him. &nbsp;Just like for our purpose and budget, the 240 is right for us.

its just basically GSRs and 240sx are both good cars. I however do think that the 240sx is more of a race car because of the RWD and the long "sporty" hood rather than the GSR's economy car looks. I do think the GSR looks good and I think the 240sx looks good. It just comes down to preference. I do talk about my car a good amount and that is the reason why we get in arguments I believe. The thing is that I don't talk shit about his car. You kno what i do think he is jealous of my car and really deep down knows its a good car. He is just the last person to admit it. The 240sx just handles overall better. I dont know what it is, the chassis? the RWD? Combo of both? DO you guys think a FWD can handle as well as a RWD?

I believe it would be the suspension and chassis. &nbsp;Like that guy said, It was built with the Mountains of Japan at heart or something. &nbsp;The S13 was designed to be a great handling car and Nissan did a great job of fullfilling it.

Like Most mature People Will say, its all about the Personal Preference, See i have a 1990 240SX, and my GirlFriend has a 95 Integra GSR, She's not into Tuning or anything but i have her convinced to let me do some tweaking under her hood over the summer months while im waiting to get some parts for my car, She got the Teg because its Cute, Personally i think they're not as good looking as people think. But they are good cars, She has had the Teg for about 2 years, and it has never given her a problem ( good thing, she cant even check her own Oil ) but she likes it, and ive driven it, its Quite Quick and its actually fun to drive, if your just out to Goof off, i wouldnt want to take it out and seriously race it. and my friend has a 96 Eclipse GSX, fun car, he's Modding the hell out of it this summer and he actually Likes the 240, He just wanted an Eclipse, he respects my car like i respect his, there all Good cars, it depends on the person. if your into cars that look cute, buy what you think is Cute, if you want Fast RTR,
Get fast RTR, if you want something that you can Mod out in so many different ways that there will prolly be nothing like it where you live, Get the 240SX. but over all, Just get what You want.
