i want to start more serios drifting after my lsd arrive, so i want to ask what for tire size fits for drifting??
in my case ive got an 180sx with ca18det and hit 190 hp (maybe after the new fmic, air filter, boost up to 1bar i hit 200 - 210hp, maybe??) and ive got a feeling that my new tires are a little to big (doesn`t test it until i`m finish with the paintjob) the are front and rear 225 35 R18 on a 8 inch rims with et16
(maybe i should do the paintjob after i tried drifting more serios? hmmm???)
what for EXPERIANCE you made with tire size at drifting??
do you think the are to big??
note with serios i mean i go more drifting alone at night not any kind of challengehttp://www.zilvia.net/f/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=8#

wow, I sense flames in your future ;)
everyone please note that he's in AUSTRIA, so be nicer :P
drifting 18x8 is just fine, in fact u proly are making enough power to play with that, the issue is tire cost, most weekend drifters i know, run 15's or 16's x 7 cuz it's easy to get cheapie tires :D

throw on a s13 sr turbine, some 444 injecotrs from a fc or soemthing, and a safc and you could be at like 230hp ish safely and lots of fun.
those are some big ass wheels but if you w what your doing it should be fine. i know a guy how drifts 1s on almost stock ka and woophs ass with it

most of you told that these tire size should spinn after i kick the gas pedal in a corner, yes or??
the tire prize is no problem for me (not that i`m rich, defently not) but i`ve got a connection to a tire dealer and i can get the old one behind in the dump to kill them (need no new tires tooooo expensive)
another question i`ve got is, is it good to have front and rear the same size??
i`ve seen it often that drift cars have rear most one inch more and 20mm more tire, like the kei office s14 silvia that was show`n in the driftbible??
( i know that these cars have much power, and the can play with that tire size), but i want to know how does it like to control the rear with bigger one`s in the back
when i think about it you have two site to see it,
first a smaller tire has less traction, right
BUT
a bigger one has less weight on cm2, i mean you have less preassure from the car on the cm2 thant the small one, could you handle it better with more tire size that actually grip the road but less pressure on it??????
personaly i want to go with the same size because i belive it`s to hard to kick even more big tires
please show your experiance with it

You will be fine with 225s. If they are gripping too much, add more air pressure.
Do you mean to kick the clutch? Kicking the gas does not do much.....
