I wanted to buy tanabe dd coilovers for my s13 240sx, but I want to drive the car on the street as well as the track. Since these are recomended for race only, would these wear out faster than the tanabe ss coilovers? Any recomendations on another suspension set up?

since they are meant for race use it doesnt necessarily mean that they will wear out any faster than the ss', but that they'll more than likely be too stiff for comfortable street driveability. personally i would suggest a nice Tein setup, but thats just my $.02

The tanabe DDs are great coilovers but the spring rates and damping on the shocks are not what you would want for a daily driver.

The Tanabe S-OC are an excellent choice, as are JIC FLTA2s or FLTA1s.

I'm not really trippin off the harshness, I just want to know if I'm going to have to rebuild them more often than the ss coilovers because they are more aggressive...

if you don't have anything to contribute why do you post?

because his response was possibly the most informal one yet.

I think if you searched, you'd find a thread started by a rep. of Tanabe USA. He's been pretty good about answering questions thoroughly and in a timely fashion, so many you can try that. At least you'll get an official answer.

I bet there are only a handful of people who have sat in both types of coilovers and have had time to see which one outlasts the other in the long run.
