I'm taking my engine out of my 240 in a few weeks to do some stuff to it. I was just wondering which way I should go. Everytime I start the engine it shakes quite a bit and I want it not to shake so much. I just don't know if I want my car shaking like crazy if I get the nismo mounts in it. Everyone at work tells me to get new stock mounts and just break them in. So it is the best of both ways. I'm wondering what you guys think?

Just fill them up with poly. Better yet, but new stock ones and fill them up with poly. :)

the nismo mounts are only hard rubber
they aren't that stiff at all
there's a little more vibration, but still comfortable and very streetable
get nismo mounts +1

nismo and fill them up with window weld...
also, if you motor is shaking its becuase there is probably sometihng wrong, a small misfire or could be a bad motor mount, but stiffer mounts arent gonna make it run like it should if you have a problem or low. comp. etc

how much more stiff are those compared to Nismo ones?
For SR, I dunno but I definitely wouldn't recommend nismo for KA's. Shit can't even clear my cusco STB.
New stock/poly +1

I can only compare them to stock worn out ones. I'll try and post a vid up in a few days. But, I'd say at least 25% stiffer.

I say go with the Nismo Mounts as well. I think the ride is better and nice for the streets.
I have an extra set if you're interested $175.00 plus shipping...PM me if interested and decide to go the Nismo way :)

Are the nismo mounts designed to locate stuff a little differently? I installed the tranny mount today cuz my stock one was sheared and the brace was 1" away from the underside of the car when I tried to put it all back together. Fenagling it and getting it up properly lifted the whole drivetrane so now my hotshot header is hitting the frame. im hoping itll just 'break in' and stop making noise soon but man, thats kinda like 1 step forward 2 steps back. Im wondering if its preloading the driveshaft intermediate bearing or if the extra noise im hearing is just my diff coming through the subframe collars i also just installed.

Is that the right stuff? Looks to soft...
When I did mine it I only did one and it made a huge difference.
Dousan did 2 and it was almost as good as solid mounting the damn thing.

use industrial strength polyurethane. it usially is in blue tube and its yellow gue stuff. it makes it real stiff, great upgrade.

p.s. You use Window Weld to fill the mounts, its brown if I recall. That white poly stuff never fully hardens.

I used 3M window weld for my Altima's tranny mount. Thing was black, it hardens really well.

yes, or that. but regular polyurethane at homedepo is cheaper and i think works just as well (what i used)

If you touch both Window weld and what you used when fully cured, I think you will see the difference.
