i have a 91' 240sx fastback. it has a infiniti J30 lsd and it dosnt feel that fast, i dont know if its the car or the ratio is to tall for my basicly stock engine.

Can someone get the the ratios for the J30 LSD and the ratio for the stock open diff? or give me a explination. im pretty sure the j30s ratiso are taller but i would like to know exact number and if i should switch over the stock ring and pinion (if possible)

thank you,
Jason

TONE DOWN THE BIG LETTERS AND BOLD TEXT...damn.

And [search + J30 + gear ratio] would give you a quick answer.

...or see here: www.KA24DEvelopment.com/vlsd.html

The website says the stock open diff is only 4% taller, so it shouldn't matter. It's like changing tire sizes.

why is ur font so damn big..

anyways J30 final drive is 3.9 on the ring gear its stamped 47:12.. 47/12 = 3.916666666666

crack open ur open diff and look at what is stamped on the big ring gear, and then do the math urself... not that hard...

plain and simple the info is right here on Zilvia if you used the search button. Oh and that website has it backwards taller gears mean lower numbers which translate to higher top speed hence taller and slower off the line acceleration. shorter gears are higher numbers which translate to lower top speed but quicker off the line acceleration response.

Where? The only spot I mention taller gears is:

J30 diffs have a 3.916 ratio, which is 4% taller than the stock open differential...

Is that what you were reffering too, or am I missing something? Let me know, I don't want bad info on my site...
