I just got my SR20DETredtop running (last saturday) and Ive been driving it around and when I get done driving it I notice its VERY hot (valve cover). Its so hot that I cant keep my hand on the valve cover for more then a second. Is this a normal temp for driving around for about 15 min going 35mph
I feel this right after I put it in park and pop the hood
Thanks,
Dave

HAHAHA. This reminds me of the turbo sentra I had. My brother and I went to Subway, and one of the guys there wanted to see it. We poped the hood, and he ask "is this was the turbo", as he layed his whole hand on it as if he was going to pick it up. Non the less, a split second latter he yanks his hand off screaming. At that moment, we were as much astonished as he was.

the sr motor normally runs hot. if you think its overheating, whats the temp read on the temp stock temp gauge? should be just above center for normal driving. might want to get an aftermarket water gauge. Also are you running your stock radiator?

plus your exhaust (turbo) manifold is right there and that biatch gets hot as hell and heats up everything around it..you need a temp guage to see how hot your water is.

yeah my stupid temp gauge isnt working so I was just wondering...thanks to those with the useful input!
Im going to invest in a power enterprise upper radiator hose and water temp gauge!
I like to spit on the ezxhuast manifold and watch the it just vaprozie in less then a second, lol
Its an "Essential" ( I have no idea who makes it or if thats just the name) radiator I got it off project nissan.com Its a little wider then the stock KA
