im about to paint my interior myself and under the advisement of my buddy who has also painted his interior. i know im doing the center console, pieces on the door and the bottom part of the driver side dash (under the gauges). what are other good pieces to paint and easy to take apart. i have a s14a.
Vents on the dash and/or the defroster vents farther up on the dash? Also, maybe the part right around the shifter? Just ideas, I can't really picture it right now.

You could dothe glove box? also, the side panels in the back seat. You could make the center piece match whatever you do the accent piece from the door. Also you could do the vents in the door as well as the vents in the dash. The trim around the holders in the doors. etc... Just get creative but make sure you have an scheme before you start painting. Oh yeah, pics when your done!

A good idea would be to goto a junk yard, and buy alternate parts in case you want to sell the car. Some poeople will see that as a potential deterant to buying the car. =) Plus that way u can take your time while painting, and get a great finish!!!!

Be sure not to get cheap spray paint or primer when spraying the interior pieces. I did that and I ended up gettin fish eyes in the paint and had to get rid of my whole center consol. Be sure to get good quality paint and primer, or even have a body shop do it.

Ok, so far i got all of the pieces i want to paint out and its ready for prepping. i can't seem to get the part right around the shifter because of that damn shift boot. i cant get it out without ripping the boot. there are these spikes that go through the boot so in order for me to get the boot out i need to get those spikes out. how do i get them out? i think if i pry it i might break the piece.
also, does anyone know how to get the piece around the dash that has the light dimmer & the cruise buttons... i unscrewed 2 screws at the top and 2 at the bottom and its all loose but i cant seem to get the peice out without bending it over the steering wheel (the wheel is as low as it will go)
does anyone know about any of these things? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'>

Hey guys,
I don't know what "cheap spray" is but I used 9 coats of krylon with 2 coats of primer...no bubbles, no "fish eyes". You should clean all of the pieces first...soap and water do the trick. I did my doors and the center panels...take a look at guidot's car (http://www.cardomain.com/id/guidot)
Hope that helps...email me direct for more info!
