I'm a Quantum Physics major and our professor gave us an extra credit project to predict things like this using the natural progression and regression of time related conflict and quantum mechanics using Einstein's theory and mathematical equations proving that time travel is impossible, but future related events can be accurately predicted given a quantum model relative to the specific events and their regressive causation. Very sketchy stuff...interesting to experiment and play around with, but wholly unreliable.

Took me a little while to think of this, or at least a while to narrow it down from a long list of people...

Personally, I think I would take the time machine trip back to Africa in the 1600s and I would empty my clip into the jackass that sold other Africans into slavery. This one act would change the course of the world, including the development of the USofA as it has taken and would have Mother Africa itself to be a place I would not mind going to for something other than dedicated tourist locations and NOTHING more.
Perhaps this would help to relieve the anti-american sentiment often expressed throughout the world because, quite possibly, there might not have been a revolution and there would not be an america. Tensions in the Middle East would not be an issue, and none of the conflict to have taken place down through the years, up to and including the war on terror (or the campaign against malicious intent - search using that for my views there), the West Bank and Gaza Strip...
All these complications relieved by my simply removing ONE motherfucker from existence before they have the chance to create their own skidmark on history. I understand, however, that when I time-machine it back to 2005 I may not find myself in NC, nor would I be in Trinidad where my granny is from, I would be somewhere in east africa if my aunt's research is accurate. I hav ZERO idea what state of technology the world would have reached as a result of my action, what state of health I would be in or if I would even exist (if not for the nice white folk and their interaction with native americans AND slaves in the cotton fields of eastern NC, I don't have great-great grandparents, then I don't have my mother's mother, then my own mommy).
In summary, while it would be a great idea to be able to pop a cap in ANY motherfucker that has created some indelible, yet purely negative, effect on the history of the world, if we, even with the purest of intentions, undo that act, we are subject to write ourselves out of history. That being said, I shoot nobody in the past, but I am WAITING on that motherfucker I can unload on in the future.
